    My Postgamer Summary:

So far Hill still seems tentative. Everyone is looking for that explosion we've seen from the prototypical PowerF/Centers. Although had a decent game.

Our point guards don't look like anything special so far. Defensively there were many 3pters that could have easily been contended. Offensively they seemed Ok but I was really hoping for Nic Wise to take atleast a spot on our bench. I can see him running offense very well for our Summer League team.

PatPat is very nice. = Carl Landry +3pt range and defensive smarts.

Alexander Johnson still is a ? to me. He made some good plays but he's reckless. Not sure what that would look like in the NBA.

Taylor is Von Wafer. They must have given him the green light. He scored a lot with consistency but is still a ball hog.

On another note Jeremy Lin showed he isn't a fluke in the previous game. He's very good defensively and can run the fast break under control. Wish we could have given him a call for a PG spot.

3 As are not a bad start for a SG
could pass more but going to be in more control than Wafer from what I saw

The one thing I garner from to day's display is that getting a back up for Yao is of prime importance. Jordan Hill is not able to play the center position to any degree which would approach NBA standards. :p

That's pathetic. Clark played horrible and was under constant criticism from the commentators throughout the game and he receives praise from Bucher? He mentions Lawal but not Patterson? Wow...

I was at the game and I hate to say this, but I think Hill is not ready yet.

It can't be because he passed the ball first before thinking about his own shot!! :p

Taylor led all scorers with 25 points, going 10-19 from the field & 5-5 from the line. He also pulled down 7 rebounds and added 3 assists. Jermaine has that scorer mentality, not sure I would call him a ball hog. As long as he is this efficient and keeps forcing the action, nothing but green lights for Mr. Tatlor.

Is there a link of the whole game for those of us who have missed it :(..

Im glad PP did really good, just strengthens our front line, putting less pressure on Yao throughout the season to do more than he needs to.

My Fav Five Rocket players were...

    1. Patrick Patterson - In one game he looked all around better than all the highlight film I saw on him. Shoots 3's, dunks, middle shot, even a bit of a low post game and he hustles on D! Wow, he just replaced everything Carl Landry was doing for us in one game. Ok he is not as explosive but he is so fundamentally sound. He won't consistently make the espn highlight reels like an Amare but he will probably be a more solid all around player in time (yeah I said it!). There is no question who the first player off the bench is now. Yao sits PP enters.

    2. Chase Budinger - Yes I know everyone wants to put JT here but CBud knows his role and plays it to perfection. What he did this game is what he will do during the season. He showed some improvement nothing major to write about but he was already so sound. he just stepped up his D, passed better while looking silky smooth doing it. He will be a great role player and second guy off the bench!

    3. Jermaine Taylor - Many on the board complained about JT shooting everything. But did you ever think maybe the coaches want him to do that. He is instant offense, Microwaveman. Every team need a guy he can come in and step up the offense with his speed. he played a little out of control but he got to the line at will and he is fearless. His shot is better and he will definitely find minutes off the bench this year.

    4. Jordan Hill - He played the second half stronger. He made some nice dunks and he even made an assist to Budinger that no other player could have caught. Still where I hoped to see the most improvement he came up a little short. Lawal seemed to have his way with him. He doesn't appear to have good enough footwork and strength to guard the bigs in the league and IMO unless he shows a lot of improvement defensively we still need a backup for Yao. Still it is early and this may be the first time he is really asked to play defense. He is a work in progress that looks good on offense and and is an incomplete on defense. Plus I love all the reports he is working hard. What more can you ask for.

    5. Alexander Johnson - He is a big body who plays hard. I don't see any room on the squad for him but I actually think he is better than Hill defensively although he is not the shotblocker. He has a knack for getting to the foul line. A long shot to make the squad but I like him and he might just make another team if not ours. Bienvenidos a Miami!

    Haha take this one Hayes.
    From what I remember:

He didn't grab too many rebs.
He did hold his man on defense though. I remember someone trying to back him down and he just stopped him.
Athletically he was avg. to good he finished without a problem.
The biggest strength that stood out was that he had legit range.
