CANADIAN HURT: Andy Kwiatkowski will miss the world championship with a small fracture of a bone in his right wrist.

The Canadian team learned last night that the 6-foot-9 forward was injured in a collision with China's Yao Ming a week ago in Vancouver. It was at first thought to be only a bruise, but treatment failed to alleviate the pain and additional X-rays revealed a fracture.

No replacement has been named and the Canadian team is unsure whether he will be replaced on the roster.
