u are correct....he would be villian #1 regardless....HOWEVER, the way he left, the way he made it a national TV special as if he was revealing something he hadnt known since he, bosh and Wade had their summit, was an absolute farce and a slap in the face to the cavs and their fans

Agreed. If you expect people to still kiss someone's behind after seven years of kissing his ass and the ungrateful manner in which he made a spectacle out of their loss then you would be denigrating those people into "slave" status. People grieve in their own way, and cleveland has the right to grieve.

I agree. He should have just said "our slave" and "my property".

I think he's a sore loser and will always be. But Dan Gilbert, on the other hand, is right on his prediction. :)

LOOK at what Kevin Garnett, Price, and Allen did in Boston. It took them only 2 years. I think the "awesome three" in Miami will get one, but not soon. It will be jock full of PRIMA DONNAs, but Wade is not like that.

This is the GM's statement. A little MORE classy:

not sure if it's true, but a guy around the office mentioned that Lebron had not talked to the Cavs very much during the season. At the least, it would have been nice to let the cavs know so that they could adjust and make moves to get them into good position.

I can't wait for the Cavs-Heat game that will be played in a STEEL CAGE next season.

it seems like they have much more defined roles though. Allen is a pure shooter. Pierce was the play maker. And KG was defense, low post and rebounder.

lebron and wade are both playmakers. Bosh isnt that great on defense.

I wonder how long the fans will be enamored with Gilbert after NBA players repeatedly spurn the Cavs because no one wants to play for a douche

Yeah, I'm dumb. Who cares about a 1hr special. He sold advertsin that went to the boys and girls clubs of america. If he had did what wade and bosh did, people would have been talking about he slid out the back door like modell. I don't care about that stuff. Maybe you crack babies do, but i don't. It doesn't matter how he told them he was leaving or where. James leaving in general was going to be the worse thing to that city. Its a losy city for 1 and the managment didn't do a great job of aquiring players. How many draft picks are on that roster from the time leborn first got there? Exactly. Their best player drafted is varejo and that speaks volumes.

Back to the race card, i shuould have done it in the DD, but maybe you should read the willie lynch papers and maybe you will understand the slave angle.

when they hang Lebrons mom in her front yard, then u can talk about Willie Lynch papers...until then, relax

he would have been flamed regardless of how he left town....but he wouldnt have been flamed nearly as bad had he been up front w the Cavs and been a man and not some prima donna who acted like he was going to announce that he found a cure for a terminal disease

Unless you're from NE Ohio or have lived there for over 2 years, there is no way you could understand.

This. Just tells Lebron that he made the right decision in leaving Cleveland.

    F#$% Dan Gilbert!

    F#$% Dan Gilbert!

Honestly, this guy is a garbage can! His response yesterday evening was atrocious and only makes things worse for the Cav's fans by adding more fuel to the fire. First, from a business perspective LeBron did absolutely nothing wrong. He served 7 contract years to the fullest, and gave everyone plenty of notice that he would be executing his free agency rights. LeBron owed absolutely nothing to Dan Gilbert and the Cav's fans, so for Dan Gilbert to say he committed "cowardly betrayel," is completely out of line and unfounded. The fact that Gilbert also starts to go back in time and complain about LeBron's past behavior only shows me that LeBron was right to leave. It basically means that Gilbert never really like LeBron as a person most likely because he had so much power over him. Dan Gilbert just has a humongous ego, like LeBron, and it was hurt when he was publicly rejected yesterday. Grow up!

Btw... the Cleveland Cavaliers will NEVER win the Championship with him as owner!

his vindictive response makes me wonder if he will be giving away his players to other great teams in hope of lebron NOT winning a championship.

What pisses me off is he said all those as soon as lebron decided to leave, but if stayed he would kiss lebron's ass and never would have mentioned that he quit.
