The Clemens one needs to be taken off as he didn't betray the Sox. The Red Sox dumped him, infamously claiming he was in the "twilight" of his career and it was time to move on.
For me personally, it was the Oilers leaving. That was, and will probably always be, the darkest time in my sports life.
The Browns leaving was all economic. The "it's just business" stuff could be applied. LeBron actually took less money to get out....and it wasn't just that he did it....it was HOW he did it that makes this the worst. Some of the others on the list were players who were, at least at the time, deemed to be past the prime of their careers.
LeBron leaving Cleveland isn't even the biggest betrayal for the Cavs. Boozer being done a favor by the blind Cavs owner and then bolting was much more of a betrayal.
DREAM gad already won 2 championships for us and was class act about stating his intentions. I don't see this as a betrayal. I see the Rockets Organization's lack of intents to keep him as a betrayal.
How you left the Colts out of this boggles my mind. That's the ultimate one right there. ...except nWo anyway.
When you learn more about the Oilers leaving Houston, you start to realize that there were very good reasons for it to happen, and that it was more of Drayton McLane's fault. Certainly not even close to being one of the top betrayals. Just 'cause you loved 'em and they're gone, that doesn't mean it was a top betrayal.
Colts & Boozer are good ones that I didn't think of. There's still such a seething among Boston folks over Clemens that I felt it applied. They accuse him of getting out of shape and quitting on them toward the end, only to turn around and kick butt the moment he left. They also very much do not forgive him for signing with the Yanks.
I agree with this. That was a completely classless move by Boozer. Glad the Rockets didn't pick that guy up.
