i'm thinking something took place behind closed doors hes referring to. maybe lebron told him he was coming back or whatever. that and i think its a rallying cry too, the fans need that. either way, cleveland is now a lottery team and byron scott is weeping as we speak

It's amazing to see something like this, but I can see why Gilbert's so pissed.

He bascially handed the team over to LeBron and his cronies. Did everything LeBron wanted to keep him happy and try hang on to him - and then LeBron still walked. Plus, this is going to cost him a ton of money.

Now he's acting out like a jilted ex-girlfriend.

    This post is garbage.

The Cavs had the best record in the whole frickin' league the last 2 seasons.

Pretending they didn't put enough around him when they won more games than anyone else over the last 2 seasons is a joke.

LeBron went to sleep vs. the Celts. Now Dwayne will bail him out. The end.

Exactly. Lebron is just a attention w****. He does deserve all the negativity that comes his way. Now I really see what kind of person Lebron is.

True but older players usually wilt during playoff games.

Shoot I for one love all this drama.. The NBA needs it :)... Lebron doesn't owe that city diddly squat. That team was bottom tier team before he got there and will become one now that he's gone.. They should thank there lucky stars he even signed that small extension in 08...

Basically Lebron did more for that whole team in franchise history than anybody else.

I think what has Gilbert so pissed off is, that he probably had LeBron sign off on all the acquisitions that were made. From Shaq, to Mo Williams to Antwan Jamison, etc. Gilbert felt that he and LeBron were in this together. But when it didn't work on the court, LeBron gave up on it before Gilbert was willing to. Gilbert is the dumped spouse who wishes his former lover gets crabs from the next partner.

I don't care that LeBron left, and in fact, I was hoping he was going to go to the Bulls. He's a grown man who can make decisions for himself, and he chose to play with players that give him the best chance to win. I did think the manner in which he conducted the announcement was uncalled for though.

At least they consulted with LeBron, to see if he liked the moves they were about to make. Not to mention they did have the best record in the league the past two years. It's just that LeBron couldn't seem to carry a team to the Finals (unlike that year he went when the Eastern Conference was weak).

I'm not really disgusted by this at all. Yes, he is an owner and shouldve gone a different route with that message but can you blame the guy? He's a fan too and He's trying to lift the spirits of a whole city that was shattered just a few hours ago. All of you are saying he's immature and what not but what Lebron did was a slap in the face to all Cleveland fans and he deserves a slap back. What Lebron did was just as immature. It's as if LeBron was oblivious to the fact that he was breaking the hearts of many of his die-hard fans. Cleveland owes nothing to Lebron after what he did tonight. Would the greats have acted this way? Jordan, Bird, Isaiah, and Hakeem wouldve never done this. Lebron deserves any bad karma that comes his way.

Please if Lebron stated he was coming to Houston you would be washing his jock strap. Look at Miami how do you think they feel.. Like everyone won the damn lottery.

From the Cavs forum. They think that Dan Gilbert is collecting evidence of tampering.

I like the throw in Rockets reference there. I'll gladly take that.

I'm glad to see most of the Rockets fans on this board are logical and reasonable, understanding that 1) Dan Gilbert is an idiot, 2) LeBron made the decision for himself and does not owe anything to the city (if anything, I'd say it's the opposite), and, most importantly, 3) the fact that Players Get Traded/Released By Teams All The Freaking Time And Owners Never Seem To Give A Darn Crap About Them When They Are Considered Disposable. Seriously, who's the one being classless here? Shame on you. Get over it. If you're smart enough, lie and say your site got hacked. The more idiotic acts like this or burning jerseys or trashing figures of LeBron, the more I feel LeBron has made the RIGHT decision.

Now Gilbert confirms that LBJ indeed quit in the playoff series against the Celtics.

I like it, great for a owner to show some real emotion

Although unprofessional this is what the vast majority of Cavs fan feel right about now.

Are you r****ded? Any idiot would welcome Lebron to Houston, hell to any team. My point is the way he handled the whole situation. He didn't have to piss on the Cavs. He knew damn well where he was going, so he didn't have to drag it out. He is a attention w****. Nuff said.
