How sweet is it going to be when Yao and company beat the Heat for a ring?

Rockets might have the best chance to contain Wade/LBJ combo in Ariza/Battier. What other team in the league can boast 2 elite wing defenders to stop them? While Brooks/Scola/Yao destroy Bosh and their scrub fillers of a team

You have two guys that can get to the rim at will with James and Wade. Do you really believe that our bigs and/or perimeter defenders won't be the ones who are in foul trouble? PLUS, they are the STARS (Wade and James in particular) of the league. Yao still doesn't get the calls that he deserves as an All-Star.

Wow, homerism to the max in this thread.

Rockets are FARRR from being in the league of this "Super Heat" team. Kiss a championship goodbye until this super team gets too old.

It's just annoying that these 3 felt the need to join each other instead of trying to be competitive against each other and winning.

Question, when LeBron, Bosh and Wade are on the bench, who runs the floor?

This season is going to be so much fun. I'm looking forward to see how our team comes together. And it will be interesting to see how things pan out for NY, MIA, PHO, CHI, NETS, CLE.

We have some good young players, some good veterans, and several first round draft picks to work with. Fun, fun, fun.

You know what? Let's not even play the games. Let's just blow God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit over there in Miami until they tire of us and we can commit suicide for their amusement.

Guys, Miami hasn't proven a thing.

Our window of opportunity is next season only. After that, Miami is gonna get together and start to dominate.
    I'm not optimistic.

We'll be better than them if we play as a team. You can't always win with three stars...Even if they are megastars. It's so cliche but its true. You need to play as a team...It's all about the sum of your parts Example. Shaq, Kobe, Gary Payton, and Karl Malone. All signed together to win a championship and got beat easily by a better Pistons squad. As of now that miami squad has no defensive inside presence. No legit Centers. A pg who can't hit threes and three superstars that are mostly effective with the ball in their hands. I'll still take teams that have been together...Boston and Orlando are still better than the Heat IMO but we'll have to wait and see who miami builds around the big 3. Honestly I would still take the Rockets over the Heat.

We might get lucky and beat them in the regular season when they are going half speed.

But in the playoffs......well lets be honest.....we can't even beat L.A much less even get to the finals to play against Miami.

Lets face it...the Yao era will almost certainly end w/o any rings.

I contend the exact opposite. If Miami does not start winning immediately, they will be relegated as one of the worst let downs in sports history. The ego's of Bosh and Wade will go at odds against "King" James. Winning is the only thing to keep it all in balance. Hell, if this team even drops 3 or 4 games in a row they will be the laughing stock of the media. This team has soo much hype behind it, if it does not live up, it will implode.

Stagger their playing time so all (neither LeBron or Wade really) are never off the court at the same time. They'll have a superstar ball handler and playmaker on the court at all times.

    Rockets Vs. Heat

Good for them, but i'm not going to dismiss our rockets. i have all the faith in morey and the staff to make this team compete next year, but i'd like to focus in particular on Ariza and Battier.

As you know it's going to be a hell of a job closing out the heat at the end of games next year. If the rockets would like to effectively do this, usually we just double team the best player on the floor and hope for the best.

So if LeBron get's double teamed, the ball goes to D-wade, and vice-versa.

Is it crucial to keep Ariza and Battier now so that we may have 2 excellent perimeter defenders to go up against the likes of LeBron and D Wade, just in case?

(p.s. not trying to jock ride the heat or anything, i'm just looking at the possibility of Rockets Vs. Heat 10-11 Final... )

I was thinking the same right after Lebron announced he was going to Miami.

    Yao Ming vs Lebron/Wade/Bosh

We need to figure out how to be the Lakers then worry about the East. Miami could win 82 games and it still wouldn't mean nothing to the Rockets if we can't win the west.

don't give up the drive. play physical d. make them shoot jumpers. box out. rebound.

and don't lebron drop 50 on us. or d-wade.

jesus... this could be scary if they had a few big men and a few good backup guards

Even if the Rockets get the talent to compete w/ the Heat, it will be hard to win for the following reasons:

    1) Obviously those players are damn good.

    2) Probably most importantly, you have 2 of the 3 NBA Golden boys on the same roster. Do you think your really gonna get a evenly called game when its all on the line. You can forget about it!

Still, I think the Rockets will be competitive we will fight hard and we won't back down. But this move the "stack the deck" pretty much sealed the deal on the Yao Ming era at least....barring some un-forseen move for a star or superstar caliber player combined with a healthy post-season from Yao. :(
