Ok, first of let me say this right now: Miami isn't some unbeatable powerhouse team just because they have LBJ, Wade and Bosh. They basically only have 3 really good players. Yes in a 5 man lineup that's pretty good, however during a 4 quarter game what happens when they need to sub guys out? They have no bench, no nothing. Honestly I think they just vault into elite team status, right up there with the Lakers. This isn't some game breaking dynasty 95% of their cap went into just 3 guys. I think its gonna be a great experiment though. We'll see how far just three guys can take it.
This is like Dream, Drexler and Barkley all over again. Bosh will be the regular season injury guy. The big difference is that they should have a longer period to play with each other.
i'd like to see some team experiment on defense and just build wall to the paint...let them shoot all they want
that's not really correct because that houston team had a better bench and cast of role players. Also Dream, Barkley and Drexler all complement each other perfectly. Wade and LBJ are more or less the same player, the difference is LBJ is better in every single aspect of the game. Lots of overlap between the two, and unless they get a dead eye shooter at pg its gonna be hard for them to coexist.
They will be under .500 this season and that's if none of the big 3 miss more than 10 games. If one of them goes down this team is toast. I can understand the Heat's motivation in grabbing three of the top 10 players in the league (with Lebron and Wade both being top 3 players) and worrying about the details later but I don't see how they put together anything close to a competent supporting cast around them. These guys are going to have to play 40+ minutes a night every single night.
Uh, it's NOTHING like that because those guys were way past their primes. When they got together, they were all around 34-35. Bosh, Wade, and James are in the prime man...no, actually, James and Bosh aren't even there yet! James still has at least 2 more years before he gets to his prime at 27-28.
i'd say james is at his prime now, someone like kobe can stretch it out because of his shooting, not james
I want to see which of the 3 will still be standing at the end of the season. If they fill out the rest of the roster with nobodies that aren't legit NBA talents, the 3 of them are going to have to work extra hard to over compensate for their lack of depth. Yea things might go smoothly early on, but an 82 game season and the potential for big minutes for each of these guys can really wear on them, especially Wade who is a human crash dummy. If they get experienced NBA players who can actually stick on a winning team's rotation on the cheap, then yea that's a different story.
