That's the dumbest thing ever. Why would you want Jefferies over Chandler? Jefferies has no offense what so ever.

The maximum salary is based on a different calculation than the salary cap. It's really complicated. Larry Coon and the NBA lawyers are among the only people who can figure it out. But in the end, the new number came out slightly less than the $16.57M figure that Lebron/Wade/Bosh are entitled to, which is 105% of their 2009-10 salary. Hence, they're each eligible for a max of $16.57M.

Well atleast this is the best team for him considering he is injury prone. What a place to be if your an injury prone player  Other than that i see its useless. Injury prone starting center with an injury prone back up center

Awesome. I was kind of hoping for Miami if this rumor was true, both to get better AND to raise the Knicks picks worth.

I don't even care if Miami has a super-team. They're in the eastern conference anyway.

Wow so they must hate Beasley so much they want to dump him to free up the remaining 7-8 million cap space they would have.

Let's see what Morey what Morey does now. It seems like Miami would like this deal done immediately so they can start filling their roster.

No! We already have an injury prone big man! We don't need a second!

There was always an outside chance that Lebron might have choosen the Knicks. Since he did not, our NY picks just became more valuable. In fact, they are one major Stoudemire injury in becoming lottery picks.

As the Knicks stand now, they are already lottery picks. They are a Stoudemire injury away from becoming a top 5 pick.

As far as I'm concerned, they're still lottery picks. Replacing David Lee, a 20 and 12 guy, with Amare Stoudemire doesn't make up the 12 additional games NY needed to win to get to the playoffs. They have a LOT of work to do...

Actually, I've seen some reports that the reason for the Heat wanting to clear Beasley's $4.9M cap figure was NOT to sign Lebron. It was to sign MIKE MILLER. There is a theory that Pat Riley got all three stars to take a slight paycut and that Beasley's money would be used to sign Miller to a fairly sizable deal.

If so, bravo, Pat! Mike Miller is EXACTLY what that Heat team would need.

Just get the damn four-team deal done! With Andersen. Not Hayes or Hill.

I totally AGREE! Even with Amare and those other guys they are a 30 win team. Who is gonna play defense? Steve Nash won't be there to play PG......

I hope so. Cleveland looks like a lottery lock right now, so I'm guessing that's one less team among the top 8.

The only downside to all this is cleveland may steal a spot from NY in the lottery...let's hope it's the #1

The four-team deal with Hill being traded is worse than no deal. I can't believe there is any way Morey would trade Hill in that deal. What am I missing about Chandler?

Good point, but I think Philly is going to be a lot better this year. I expect they will make the playoffs before New York. I just don't see how they will fill out the roster enough this year to make a playoff push unless they are giving up on their plan to sign a free agent star (now in 2011).

Those New York picks are looking better and better.
