If Toronto is holding things up by trying to get more then I say Riley continues to give them the middle finger. Toronto won't let Bosh walk for nothing. Bitterness get's a GM fired.

Your calculations appear to be correct. I think that Charlotte keeps Thomas, maybe even uses its MLE, and may be butting up against the tax threshold when it's all said and done. My $3.5M figure was just a doubling of your figure to account for the tax.

Colangelo needs to realize that he's basically a lame duck and that not being known as "the GM who helped Bosh leave Toronto" is not going to save his job. He's got a better chance of salvaging his job if he gets SOMETHING back in a sign-and-trade deal. A first round pick, a backup center whose salary is paid for them (and then some) and a huge trade exception is better than nothing. A lot better.

Throw in David Andersen and you got a deal. Chandler may be overpaid but he's an expiring and can help the team as a serviceable backup.

Where have you been??? It's pretty much a given that, in order for the four-team deal to work, the Rockets (in addition to sending Jeffries to Charlotte) would be sending either Mike Harris's or Alexander Johnson's non-guaranteed contract out, along with one of the following three players to Toronto:

(a) David Andersen
(b) Chuck Hayes
(c) Jordan Hill

Odds are the missing player is Andersen. Hence, Toronto's balking.

he`s been a decent starting C in the league for awhile now. he can do pretty much everything Deke was doing when he was a backup here. i think it`s a great pickup if it does indeed happen.

Apparently Colangelo doesntwant his job. He wants nothing back and is basically throwing a fit in Toronto. I know Toronto and Cleveland are really taking a huge hit because of these guys though. It wasnt selfish for these guys to leave their cities but the cities are gonna feel it. Colangelo should lighten the blow by saying he acheived something from it.

Hey Bima, do you know what the 1st year Max dollars Lebron and company can receive based on the new numbers (estimated 56.1 reality 58 mil).

I'm confused because it seems like 58 mil would cover 3 max players and they wouldn't need to dump Beasley's salary. Does the kid suck that much that they want to dump him for nothing.

Thanks

Toronto gambled on Hedo and that turned out to be a bad bet.

They gambled that they would be able to resign Bosh and decided not to trade him earlier while he was still under contract. That turned out to be another bad bet.

Now they are gambling on getting back a little more to do a Bosh Sign and Trade.

In one of the quoted articles in this thread, it did mention that Toronto was looking for assets, thus they want Houston to cough up something that could be safely called an asset.

I believe this trade will go down as soon as Lebron will announce that he is going to become a part of the Miami Heat.

Starting to think this trade will not happen, because my gut tells me Lebron stays a Cav.

No way would I do the deal if I have to send Hill out with Jeffries to make the deal work. Hill is still unknown, but I wouldn't give up on this quickly for a backup center.

If Lebron stays a Cav, and wants 1 hour show on ESPN for this, He will be joke forever.
