If Kobe can beat the Heat's assembled talent of stars will the Kobe haters finally give him some respect?

Finally get some respect? He's regarded as the best player in the league by most people. What else do you need?

I think if the Lakers beat the Heat in the Finals it does more for Gasol's career (I hate to say legacy in terms of Pau Gasol) than Kobe's. He would probably go down as the best Second Banana of All Time.

I hate Kobe and give him all the credit as being one of the greatest.

I mean really, why do you think people hate Kobe?

besides, Lebron is quickly taking the title away as King of the Arrogant, Self Entitled Me Show.

He's already regarded as one of the greats of the game. Most people have him as the 2nd greatest SG of all time.

And we don't even know how good Miami will be next year. If they attract good players willing to play for the minimum, look out. If its 3 superstars and a bunch scrubs, it may not be such a great feat to knock them off.

I would say if Kobe can lead the Lakers to a victory over a Heat team with Lebron, Wade, and Bosh he should be moved into the top 5 players to ever play the game.

Kobe is too busy picking up rings, he doesn't care if he's respected.

is he going to shoot 40% from the field and win because he has the best frontline in the league? i mean doesn't it kind of matter how lebron or wade or kobe play in this hypothetical series? or do we just see which team wins and start ranking players based on that?

uhh, is there anybody who cares more about their legacy than kobe? you can argue he doesn't care if he's liked, but he damn sure worries about respect and legacy.

If the Lakers and the Heat(with Lebron) plays in the finals next year, I just may give up the NBA outside the Rockets.

    Really? More than Quitten?

that means squat...you posted it on a rockets fan site. The majority hate kobe and can't answer the poll objectively.
