I'm not sure if this is the right place for this thread, but could the Rockets possibly trade a few players to the almost Roster-less Heat for future draft picks? Keep the Knicks picks and get future draft picks from the Heat to gain more assets for Houston. I mean the Heat will have to fill out their roster somehow even if they get Wade, Bosh and Lebron.
-rockets trade players to help Heat form a contending roster -rockets get back future first round picks -heat make championship runs -rockets no longer deep enough or good enough to contend -heat's picks end up being really late in the first round I'm gonna go with NO.
What good would Heat draft picks be? If they turn into a decent contender, then they're in the mid-20's. If they start winning titles, then they'll be #30 overall.
Plan D will be some Russian center no one has ever heard about but has multiple Euro league titles....
No. Even if we wanted to, the Heat will be near the cap after they sign these three. They wouldn't be able to absorb all the salary we'd be sending them. Basically, you can trade something (players) for nothing (draft picks) only if the team taking the contracts is under the cap and won't be going over the cap due to the trade. Otherwise, you have to match salaries.
Are you serious?!? If LeTraitor does in fact go to Miami, then why would we want this super team's picks? Just so we can pick outside of the lottery every year for the next 5 years. I want nothing to do with this "NBA takeover" team they are trying to assemble in Miami. We should tell the rest of the NBA to not conspire together to not trade with Miami in no way possible!!!
This is completely nonsense, if Lebron joins Miami then their draft picks would be uselsess, becaouse they'll be one the best teams in the NBA, so what's the point...??
Plan D is to turn Jeffries, Andersen, and Johnson into a larger amount of expiring contracts so we can pilfer either New Orleans, Philly, Indiana, or some other cash strapped team at the deadline. Don't be surprised by some crazy looking deal that has us sending out less salary than we are taking back just to add to our expiring contract bonanza. Our plethora of expiring contracts, especially if we get another one, is going to net us a superstar because they are going to allow us to take on more salary and save other cash strapped teams more salary than any trade exception that these teams will net for signing and trading their superstars will be able to do. Target 1: New Orleans Targets 2-6 (no particular order) : Phoenix, Indiana, Philadelphia, Detroit, Denver Don't be surprised if Morey decides to trade the $3 million exception to Detroit for Chris Wilcox and his $3 million expiring deal.
Haha, yes I am writing it down...into my new sig, thanks! LOL
Splice the DNA of Yao and Shane and create a hybrid player of perfection. We only have to wait 18 years for a ring...
