I'll take chandler, short contract, good enough for a back center/PF, someone who can run the floor, should work well w/ this group.

True, a pick could be involved. This trade seems just too good to be true otherwise.

Guys, considering that Jeffries/Andersen would never get on the court next year on a hypothetical team with Yao, Chandler, Scola, Hill, Hayes and Patterson, you need to look at this as the salary cap/financial equivalent of:

    (a) signing Tyson Chandler as a free agent to a one-year, $3.2M contract

    AND

    (b) having him also be a $12.6M expiring contract for February trade deadline purposes

    AND

    (c) also having his Bird rights to either re-sign him or to possibly even sign-and-trade him elsewhere in exchange for other players, picks and/or a large trade exception.

If its plan B, its one hell of a plan. If you would have told me before the summer that the rockets have a chance to trade Jared Jeffries for Tyson Chandler straight up. I wouldn't have believed it.

It does seem too good to be true. Its a win win across the board.

There's our back-up center. He's Mutombo lite emphasis on the lite. At least we won't be giving up any height when he's in there. He can run the floor and finish with authority. Not bad for the price of one Jared Jeffries.

Morey's been trying to counter the Lakers height for quite some time now. He tried with Gortat, Bosh, Miller, and now he's after Chandler. He's already added fire power in the back court with Martin and Ariza, now he's looking to do the same to the front court. Props to him. I like this deal.

AB and Chandler could hook up on alley-oops all the time like CP3 did with him. He would also provide that Mutombo-type presence that we need in the paint.

    Git er done Morey!!!

I think Chandler in street clothes can cheerlead as well as Jefferies in a uni so even if he does get hurt it's no big loss.

Not worth it if Chase, Patterson, or Hill.

They almost certainly do not want Jeffries. They probably do not want Battier, either.

I'm fine with Andersen, Hayes, and/or Alex Johnson going.

a second rounder is ok. The clippers swap for 2011 would be fine to trade but for a rental? I guess it would only be fair.

Love this trade. When the trade deadline approaches and NO is ready to trade CP3 because the owner hasn't sold the team and he needs to dump some salary. Then Denver is ready to trade Melo because they will be scared that he will leave them with nothing. The Rockets jump in and make a 3 way deal.

    Rockets receive:
    Carmelo Anthony
    Chris Paul

    Nuggets receive:
    AB
    Ariza
    J. Hill
    M. Peterson

    Hornets receive:
    Battier
    Chandler
    2012 Rockets 1st rd pick

    Rockets lineup
    Yao/Miller
    Scola/Patterson/Hayes
    Melo/Bud
    Martin/Taylor
    Paul/Lowry

    Hey I can dream ;)

We'd have to include Jeffries to match the salaries.
