I don't know man. I think Toronto is pretty pissed at Bosh's immaturity through the process, and is willing to let him walk just to spite his ass.

Not a good trade IMO. Beasley has issues. I am sure the Heat would love to add Ariza as a role player.

Do the heat need to trade Beasley in order to sign Lebron?

If the only hold up is Toronto's refusal to take on any $3m contracts from the Rockets (Andersen?), wouldn't it seem that $2-3m in cash from Les could offset that? Not that it's a no-brainer that Les does that, but it seems an obstacle that could be overcome.

Some of ya'll have missed the most obvious part of this deal. We will have a legitimate NBA big man at the beginning of the season to backup Yao when we will need to be playing him less minutes. This affords us the luxury of seriously controlling his minutes to keep him healthy for the 2nd half run and playoffs.

I don't know anything about if they are friends (Yao and Chandler) and don't know too much about Chandler's injury history. Looking at his stats his missed about 1/2 to 2/5 the past 2 seasons. Limiting his minutes as well seems to be beneficial.

Also, you have to look at it this way, we would be giving up JJ who is basically making about half the amount as Chandler. When many teams are trying to cut salary, we are adding it, so we also might be looking to get future draft considerations out of this deal as well. We'd have to give out more salary than just JJ's contract, so even if it's Andersen, he's basically a one year guy, because the last year on his 3 deal is mostly unguaranteed; Hayes contract expires after this year as well.

We can make this deal happen and it would be an upgrade to our team overall and allow us to be in prime position to take on a star and some additional contracts.

Hypothetical: If we do this deal and assuming we trade out Andersen and Mike Harris, we'd have Chandler's 12,600,000, Shane Battier's 6,939,000, Chuck Hayes' 2,147,750 . That's 21,686,750 million in salary and with the 125% rule + 100,000, we could take on up 27,208,437.5 million in salary. Remember, Morey said he would be willing to accept extra salary to get a top player.

does chandler automaticall rule out Miller?

Miller isnt the answer, but I do see him helping the rockets out.

Best thing about this is then we wouldn't need Brad Miller which means we'd still have our MLE.

Also, do the Heat NEED to trade Beasley in order to sign Lebron??

Best case: Andersen and either Alexander Johnson or Mike Harris
Worst case: Some combo of Hill/Andersen/Budinger

assuming we are re-signing luis, then yes, i think it is chandler instead of miller.

Chandler seems more injury-prone than Miller. Miller is, obviously, a much better high-post shooter and passer. I think I'd rather have Miller backing up Yao.

I liked the effort JJ put on the court for us last season.

I wouldn't mind adding another JJ to the roster, as a back-up 2.

As far as I can tell, the deal probably isn't going to happen because Toronto is acting stupid (again) and utterly refuses to sign and trade the only real asset they have.

On top of stupid, they seem to want to deny reality in refusing to admit that their entire team pretty much sucks. Good god, I would love this.
