I think it will be held in somewhere remote, like Iceland or the Swiss Alps, just so he can drag basketball pundits across the world to see him make his announcement.
What the **** is wrong with y'all? The NBA is BUSINESS. Stop hating on every ****ing single thing god damn. It's business and it makes suspens I mean the off-season is so boring so why not some little suspens. Damn stop the hate!
Favre's delays are due to him wanting to skip training camp since hes 41 years old. Lebron just wants the attention. This is a much different situation.
So you think Lebron is worse? Lebron is getting way too much hate over this. I mean, the nerve of the guy to take a whole week to decide where he wants to play for the prime of his career, and how that will impact his family, and his basketball legacy and his fortunes. the nerve I say! and to do it all while not bouncing around like an idiot (cough cough...Bosh) - geez! and then to take advantage of the situation by helping raise money for a good cause...freaking ridiculous! This guy's an attention w**** I say, an attention w****!
http://www.newsday.com/sports/baske...l-make-announcement-in-greenwich-ct-1.2086121 LeBron will make announcement in Greenwich, CT 4 m ago By Alan Hahn Multiple sources told Newsday that LeBron James' one-hour special on ESPN, called "The Decision", will be broadcast from a studio in Greenwich, Conn. The show will air at 9 p.m. on Thursday night on ESPN and James will announce his destination of choice. There was a belief that James would make the announcement from his hometown of Akron, Ohio, which would lead to speculation that he would almost certainly choose to stay with the Cleveland Cavaliers. The fact that this announcement will be made at a neutral site -- though extremely close to the Knicks' practice facility in Westchester and less than an hour from Manhattan -- adds to the intrigue. The Knicks, who have put two years into preparing to lure James to New York, are believed to be very much in the running. The Nets are also among James' choices, along with the Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Clippers and, of course, the Cavaliers. Free agents Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh both committed to the Heat today on ESPN, but said neither one has worked out contract details yet. The two left the door open for James to join them in South Beach for a new, more formidable version of Boston's Big Three. Meanwhile, the Bulls and Nets are said to be hotly pursuing free agent Carlos Boozer to add to their rosters as a last-ditch effort to catch James' attention. The Knicks came to terms with Amar'e Stoudemire on Monday. He will be introduced officially Thursday afternoon at a news conference at the Garden.
If he's not playing for the Knicks he certainly knows how to tease choosing a site so close to the Knicks practice facility in Purchase and flying into Westchester County airport the same airport the Knicks fly into.
He's also giving some of the "Special" money to the Boys and Girls Club, so at least a charity benefits from his ego.
http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archi...ons_espn_plans_have_been_in_works_for_months/ this guy had it in planned. So he had not decided a huge decision or thought about it like he said, yet he thought about hte tv deal so on ....he's pure showbusiness and out for fame and attention...just plays games with everyone and they soak it up, notice on the other spectrum the young star who actually has the fundamentals of jump shooting and freethrows not just athleticism, signs an extension with a low market team, announces it over twitter, and now has been on the summer league team assistant coaching....Respect to Kevin Durant, i'd rather have a guy like that than lebron
Regardless where he ends up, I bet the Cleveland fans are so pissed they are being played with in this manner. If he ends up picking Cleveland, the fans will be happy, but right now they must be so pissed.
i guarantee that it gets leaked to the public in that span of 5 minutes before the press conference. this whole idea is stupid. just make a decision already
they have different personalities, durant is quiet and shy by nature compared to most athletes.......plus he wasnt an unrestricted FA
Ya'll are a tad harsh. If people didn't want to see this it wouldn't be aired. Moreover, he's using this publicity to raise money for a worthwhile charity. People keep talking about how Lebron was trying to promote his brand, but I don't really see how. He didn't do a media frenzied tour of each city, he didn't twitter a bunch of crap like Bosh, he never made public comments about any team/city, he just stayed out of the way and is making his decision public on the first day he's able to sign. Seriously, what is the problem everyone has with the guy? I honestly have zero problems with the way he's handled his free agency.
Lebron is donating proceeds to charity because that's something a Rocket would do. Les Alexander approves.
Does anyone know if they will have this announcement live online? I am in Rio de Janeiro and I doubt ESPNBrazil is going to have this.
