Bosh....Boozer...etc... Lebron hasn't signed....so it seems nobody has signed.... because when we think free agency....we think Lebron James..
A bunch of people have signed, the 1st tier guys are almost all gone except for James and Lee. Do you mean on the dotted line because its the 8th?
Yeah! There has been no official signings, contract numbers released yet and its 2 in the afternoon easter time right now...
I know Amare has a presser around 1 today but they are still waiting to see what Lebron does because it effects S&T deals that may go down. Same with Bosh, who wont be in Miami till Friday I read. I am sure the lower ranked FAgents will just sign under the radar with no fan fare unless your in that particular city.
This is why...The news of the 10-11 NBA salary cap being at $58.044M creates additional cap room for James, Wade and Bosh to get closer to a maximum contract. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_a...ron_plans_to_choose_miami_heat/#ixzz0t6jBPriT
No one has signed bc.... Bosh still may get the max in a sign and trade w Miami.....and for all we know, if Lebron goes to Mia, perhaps Clev would entertain a s and T as well......and Wade probably needs to wait to sign because if there are no sign and trades, then the Heat will probably pay each of them equally
Bosh and Wade wont sign till Lebron has announced where he's going... then they have to negotiate terms with Miami. Meaning... someone, or all of them will have to take a pay cut, or work out a sign and trade with Cleveland or Toronto... Sign and trade is unlikely so they most likely will have to work out a pay cut. Might take a couple more days to figure out. If they are getting Max deals each, this is what the deal will look like= Wade will get the max 6 year 125K since he is resigning with original team. -that is 20.8 Million a year averaged for 6 years accrued. Lebron will probably get 5 years 85K since he is signing outright and losses the final year. - that is 17 a year on average for 5 years. Bosh will have to take an even smaller cut at 5 years 80K. -Averages out to 16Mil. a year on average for 5 years. -That already puts the Heat at the Cap of 53M. With the MLE and a few other exceptions given they will find a way to get rid of Beasley and Chalmer's contracts they will have next to nothing to spend on other free agents. All three will have to shed at least 2 Million a year off of their contracts if they want any room for the rest of the team. This fact will make the contract negotiations last a few more days.
Yeah I thought there was like a grace period where no one can sign until the 8th. But of course, all deals agreed upon are pretty much set in stone. Unless you're Carlos Boozer.
Yep, but any older veteran thats already made all the money he needs will sign for the minimum knowing a championship in imminient.
I bet they Lebron Bosh and Wade look to make the same about. Prolly 80-85 million to free up some space to sign other decent roll players. I think this is great for the NBA. Its going to be fun until 2012 when it all ends.
