Maybe Morey really is a genius?! That would be incredible and restore my faith in G*d.

Only way we can compete with Miami is to bring in Carmelo and Chris Paul and it still might not be enough.

Melo is the closest thing to the next T-Mac. Morey is also on the record as thinking he is overrated. No thanks.

Oh that's rich. Did you by any chance watch his year at Syracuse or his Final Four performance? T-Mac wish he had the balls Melo has. I'd love to have his inside/outside game to go along with a backup center who is actually taller than 6'8, hell yeah! About damn time!

    Melo is way overrated

Also his girl Lala already said on New York radio that Carmello thought about New York.

He doesn't give a rats ass about Houston.

Too much negativity. Ariza is good but of our starting 5 he is the weakest talent. We a go to guy and Melo is one of the few superstars who might be available. He hasn't signed that extension BTW and the Rockets can offer more trade assets than probably anyone else. Denver will be motivated to move him at the deadline if he indicates he will not resign.

Let's say the Knicks really stink it up this year, can we offer our pick that can be swapped along with Ariza, Jeffries, and Bud or Hill, and the 2012 pick or picks.

    AB/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Melo/Battier
    Scola/Patterson
    Yao/Hill/Miller

I would put that starting 5 against the Fakers or Heat.

For those of you who don't want Carmelo but want a superstar who else might be available?

It would be pretty sweet to land Carmelo. If that happens, then we're gonna lead the league in free throw attempts no doubt with him, Martin, Lowry, and Yao all drawing fouls. However, there isn't really any reason he would choose us over other teams. Broussard is just always mentioning Houston it seems.

Carmelo is probably going to sign an extension with the Nuggets. No go.

I could see Morey trying to target Melo but if Houston has to give up K-Mart, I can't see how we're better than we are right now.

Sigh.. That's a beautiful dream, but I am not going to get my hopes up cause I doubt it's happening. We would definitely be very good.

So go after Granger. At least he plays defense.

Have you guys noticed that he hasn't played more than 77 games in the last 4 seasons? I did not realize he had missed so many games.

Carmelo would shore up our greatest weakness at the wing position which has been very weak since T-mac lost his health.

Figure when the Trade Deadline approaches if we are in the playoff hunt and Yao Ming is back to being a dominant center...and C.A. has not re-upped with Denver and shows signs of taking off to NY....we have to go after him.

A 3 month rental would be worth a Trevor Ariza in my opinion, but we might be able to get him for less if Carmelo is set on testing the free agent market.

I think with the Miami sweepstakes guys like Carmelo are going to start getting anxious and he will not re-up with Denver and instead look to play for a true contender. Figure adding him to Yao, Brooks, Scola, and Martin would create a devastating starting 5.

I think this is very doable. We might have to lose Martin, Hill and draft picks to do it. Thats a good price for young talent if he is willing to accept the max contract with us.

Melo could really flourish here. I always liked Melo more than James. Even when they came in the league the same year.
