They were in the twilight of the careers when they all played together...Clyde Drexler was in his 13th NBA season, Hakeem was in his 12th, as was Barkley...

James, Wade and Bosh will be in their 7th seasons...In other words they will all be in the prime of their careers...

I think this all goes back to Chris Bosh's tweet that says "Today is a great day!" Maybe they were all in it from the beginning and they were just playin'...I bet that the free agency isn't just James, but includes all of them in it together...We already know that Bosh has been brining a camera around with him...

I think this will be Epic! A Trio of LBJ, WADE and Bosh all 3 in their prime I would consider the best Trio NBA has seen. LBJ & Wade alone are consider top 3 best talented over all in the NBA. It doesnt matter if they have a weak supporting cast or not they will dominate teams up the ass.

But they will be on TNT each and every Thursday and most Tuesdays. The Heat vs. Lakers Christmas Day game will return.

not to discredit the guy, but i live in nyc, and newsday is the paper no one reads.......bosh was adamant about getting the extra year in a s&t to make more money, now he'll take even less than the max so they can squeeze lebron's contract in? i can easily see lebron agreeing, then bosh backing out later.

I'm guessing he does go to Miami. I don't think he's going to the Bulls because he could have probably gone there with Bosh. Instead, he was trying to convince Bosh for a sign and trade with Cleveland. I think NJ is 2 years away (or 3 or 4, depending on the rate of construction on the new stadium). I don't think it's Cleveland because by now he has to realize that he couldn't win in Cleveland in the last 4 years, how does he win now when Orlando is still as good, Boston is about as good (with some aging but perhaps some reloading this summer), Chicago just picked up the low post scorer they desperately needed and Miami just got Bosh. I regrettably think NY is still a possibility, but I think he will choose Miami. I think he's leaving Cleveland and the boys scout money is a way to soften the blow (unsuccessfully) by saying -- at least on my way out I'm helping folks! Also, getting a new twitter account, website, etc. all speak to someone who's reinventing himself or taking it to the next stage -- signs of someone who is going elsewhere. Finally, just to go out on a limb, when Chris Bosh tweeted on Tuesday that it was a "great day", I think it was because all three had decided to come to Miami. Otherwise, Bosh and Wade could have agreed to Miami from the getgo. Just speculating, of course.

i agree 100%. i don't see it happening. but if it does, like i said, it'll be very interesting.

however, all 3 are unselfish on the court so it can all work out very well. but again, playing on the dream team is different from playing on an NBA team.

Wow....so sick if true. That team will not only dominate, every single time you hear of a roster additon to the team, its going to just add to it. I know every player in the league wants on that squad, who wouldn't. Props to Wade for basically being the PIMP of the NBA to talk these guys into joning him over so many muti-million dollar variables. Thats some true game right there. I can't wait to see how they build the rest of the heat around those guys and how stacked the supporting cast can be with minimal salary. I see Shaq making a move there. He played with both Lebron and Wade, a FA that isn't hurting for money. He can afford to take the minimum and play next to these guys and soak up 2 more years of the limelight and still be at least in the conversation when the NBA is brought up. Expect more big names to follow.

His is bad news IMO because it will make the league have less parity than it already has. First, you'll see the Heat dominate, then free agents will start to think about joining up themselves to take them on, so we will maybe see only 3 teams each year with a legit shot at a title, and the other teams will be no competition.

    This is frightening...

They could sign Bonzi and Moochie and win a ring...

    Lebron joining Wade and Bosh is BY FAR my least favorite outcome. While i'm sure, Lebron going to Miami would be almost as big (media/wise) as NY i'm hoping it doesnt happen. I rather he go anywhere else than join Wade and Bosh in Miami. The reason is threefolds;

    1. Miami dont need it, they got a championship in 06, they got wade and bosh AND it sucks as a sports town.

    2. It eliminates the prospect of having epic ECF rivalry between Lebron/Stoudamire vs Wade/Bosh for the next 5 seasons. It'll be reminiscent of Bird/mchale vs Dumars/Isiah or Jordan vs Detroit.

    3. It'll absolutely eliminate the mystery of who will win the ship... I dont want to see a team win 6 out of 7 ships (though it was great due to MJ) like the bulls... I want to see a repeat of the 80's with a multitude of great teams battling to win it each year. Just the possibility is good enough.

I think you are overstating quite a bit. Don't pencil the Heat into the Finals just yet. It may take a year. Riles has a tough job ahead of him filling in 5-6 more decent rotation players. The Heat will basically be an expansion team and it will take time to build chemistry. It may take the playoffs to expose the weaknesses of this team.

Tell you what, if it weren't for these guys playing with each other in the Olympics, no way LeBron would go to Miami. They really must have had fun together. This is just my opinion.

If this is true, T-mac will be the first to lick these three's a$$es and said he will play the Heat for the vet minimum!

i think there is 0 chance lebron goes to miami. Think about it for one minute - his first choice was obviously cleveland, otherwise he would have never tried to get Bosh to play there. So, that means that he would be following Bosh's lead going to Miami. There is no way an ego as big as his will let that happen. IMO Bulls and knicks are in the running. knicks would be a clear favorite except that rose-boozer-deng-noah is wayyyy better than any team the knicks can field. IMO nets are an also-ran, not enough name recognition. If they had already relocated to Brooklyn/been under the new management for a couple years then they would be in the running too, but they're still in NJ, and saddled with being a crappy franchise.

A Miami super team might not win right away, but it's hard to imagine them NOT being a dominant dynasty in a few years.

Here's hoping that all the "breaking news" Lebron info of the past two days is just a cynical ploy for ratings.

    1. Because the Heat knows they have no chance to win it all with Bosh and Wade only.

    2. Boston Big 3 vs Heat 3 or Dwight and the MAgic vs Heat 4 will be an epic too.

    3. And you are no complaining the lakers wining 3 in the row? Even with the THREE we all know that the Heat are 2-3 quality role players away from championship what's more about a dynasty!
