    Frat Suspended Over Playboy Photo
Wed Aug 28, 1:03 PM ET

A fraternity was suspended from Baylor University for a year after a picture of some members — fully clothed — appeared in Playboy magazine.

About 50 men and four women, all students at the time, posed on a sand volleyball court, some wearing Sigma Phi Epsilon T-shirts and others waving Baylor pennants.

A student who has since graduated posed nude for another photo and used an alias. The pictures are in the October issue featuring the Big 12 conference.

Officials at Baptist-affiliated Baylor called it a salacious publication and said it runs contrary to the school's ideals. In the past, Baylor administrators have threatened to expel any student who poses for the magazine.

Larry Brumley, a university spokesman, said discipline for the students appearing in the October issue could vary. He declined to elaborate, citing federal student privacy laws.

Elizabeth Norris, a "Playboy" spokeswoman, said some fraternity members called the magazine about a month ago and asked editors not to run the picture.

Sigma Phi Epsilon members at Baylor declined to comment.

Here is a link to Baylor's response if anyone is iterested. http://pr.baylor.edu/story.php?id=003660

I think its funny that they point out errors in the medias coverage and then a few lines down name the incorrect fraturnity.

Too bad the Baylor football didn't make the Playboy Preseason Top 25. Then BU football would get suspended, and every Big 12 South team wouldn't be 1-0 before the first game of the season.

    :D

Smokey -- we could go ahead and give them the win now anyway, probably!! :) and i'm a Baylor grad!

From time to time players will turn down being named in Playboy's all america team...I remember David Klingler did that.

the Baylor girls were the only fully clothes females in the magazine. If reprimanding was going to occur, they could have at least done the Full Monty! :D

If you want to have a miserable college experience, I would suggest going to Baylor.

The girls are hot, but stuck-up, snotty, BMW driving, daddy's girls...... Yes this is a SWEEPING generalization.

    wow...

    did you go there??

I did...I had an incredible time. I met some of the best people I've ever met in my life, including my wife, who was/is hot but drove a Oldsmobile despite the fact her father could have afforded that BMW. I knew lots of very attractive girls at Baylor who were great people too...

    what's your experience with Baylor??

On the surface that is how it appears. I just graduated from Baylor a few months ago and had a great experience. It is not the sheltered conservative environment most think. Yes there are some uptight people but the majority are just typical college folks.

So How did the Baylor Administration find out if the magazine "runs contrary to the school's ideals"?

I mean, there's no way that someone in the Administration would ever read Playboy, what with it being a festering pit of evil straight from the bowels of hell, so how, oh how, could they have found out about the pictures.

Playboy probably let them know -- hoping to get a reaction.

There's nothing like a good controversy to drum up sales.

There may also be other factors at work. This particular fraternity was always getting into some kind of trouble when I went there. It's probably a straw that broke the camel's back type of thing.
