Brad Miller can come over and help out, but we need to work something out for Al Jefferson with immediacy.
He's old (already past 34), and he's no longer any good. He can no longer move, defend or block shots. He's only going to get worse with age. Miller: 43.0% FG 28.0% 3PG 0.67 Blocks/40 minutes 11.4 R/40 minutes 12.96 PER With his decline due to age, he's now roughly equivalent to David Anderson. Anderson actually shoots and rebounds better, with an edge in passing to Miller. Neither is a force inside. Anderson will be in his second year - and more likely to improve than Miller. Already their production is nearly identical: Anderson: 43.2% FG 34.6% 3PG 0.53 Blocks/40 minutes 13.4 R/40 minutes 12.11 PER He is totally redundant with Anderson under contract for 2010-11.
For what exactly - to put up identical numbers to David Anderson, and continue to decline rapidly? I would rather watch Hill back up Yao, than Brad Miller...who is no longer any better than David Anderson. IF Morey trades Hill AND Anderson, as part of a deal for a superior player, then Miller might make sense.
How unrealistic are you? Healthy Jefferson is a legit 20/10 big and he's only 25 years old. You won't pick him "without giving up anything significant".
Biedrins is overpaid, but he is a center that plays great defense, rebounds like crazy, and runs the floor like a madman. I think he would be tremendous on the 2nd unit running with Lowry. Combine that with bringing in Randolph to counterpunch guys like Lamar Odom. I like it. Yao/Biedrins/Hill Scola/Randolph/Patterson these bigs totally offset Gasol, Bynum, and Odom and in fact, one of them may be movable in the right deal for somebody like Iggy and we still have more than enough to tango with L.A. on the interior. Then when you look at the perimeter, we can hold our own against them. They are aging. Artest is overrated. Fish may be gone. If he's not, Brooks dominates him. If Golden State would hand us their 2011 draft pick to take Biedrins off their hands along with Randolph, that would be a very interesting deal.
never wanted "plan A" in the first place and more than happy to keep hill/scola on the roster now. plan B should be to just wait till the trade deadline and see what we can get for battier/jeffries expirings
I'm not at all disappointed that we aren't getting Bosh. It would have been exciting and interesting, but I'm more than happy with Scola's game. We need to keep/add to our height. I like the thought of dealing with the Warriors (again).
9 mill really isnt that overpaid for a 7 footer who can atually play well...at least not in todays NBA
I'd love to revisit the Iguodala trade, along with the rumored Golden State trade. But, Biedrins and Iguodala have some hefty contracts.
WHOA! If the Lakers can get Pau Gasol for Kwame Brown and Marc Gasol then Morey can surely pull this off. By significant I mean Brooks, Yao, or Martin. Other than that I say anyone else could work in for Big Al.
As long as Trevor Ariza is not wearing a Rockets uniform next year, I'll be happy. That man does not fit in with this team (especially with Yao back) at all.
