There is this biblical phrase that goes something like " those who exalt themselves shall be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted."
I've got to admit... I was pushing for Bosh but deep down inside I wanted to keep our core together. The guys that we have played with last season showed tremendous heart and displayed an incredible amount of balls to go up against some of the best teams in the league. I live in SD, Californina and this place in INFESTED with Laker fans. I can honestly say first hand that they want ABSOLUTELY NO PART OF THE ROCKETS! I love to hear that because we are in many peoples eyes a "non contender". I believe that we are. Adding Yao to the equation gives us a different dimension that many people seem to have forgetten about. I say, Give our guys a chance to play with Yao! The likes of Trevor, Bud, and Kevin have not played with him. I like our chances. Lets pick up who we can, but I think we should keep the core together. Just thinking out loud........
guess some of y'all don't want a ring. we would be better with Bosh. stop fooling yourselves. we are really good with Scola but not championship good... unless Yao returns as the dominating center we have come to known
Scola is the best PF position choice for Rockets with his efficient inside and outside scoring, great leadership and especially his sense of games.I regard him as the 2nd important players on the court. He is worth of a contract of 9.5 million per year.
Maybe. But considering the contracts some players are getting, we may be able to sign him for less if we just go ahead and negotiate with him and wrap him up before someone else makes an offer.
Rockets have themselves a few solid PF on their team (Scola and Hill). Morey did what he had to do when he knew Bosh would be available. He went after one of the best players in the game. We'd be fools to say we have someone as good as Bosh on the team - Potentially Hill could be that good, but he's only shown flashes. But, the best teams win championships, not the best players.
According to that chart, Scola had more rebounds and shot at a higher field goal percentage. I was actually hoping the team went for a stud wing perimeter player, but knew that Houston didn't have the cap space to go after any of them. This team went to a 7 game series with the Lakers a few years ago with some injuries. I hope Martin and Brooks have a monster year and our perimeter defense returns back to the level it was two years ago. I'm glad that Wade and Bosh didn't go to Chicago. That would have been unfair.
I haven't been at my computer all day but seeing that this thread is posted, I guess that Bosh has decided against Houston
Scola has more heart and leadership in his pinky finger than bosh has in his entire body. IM glad we keep Scola, my favorite player
I love Scola but Russel must have slipped you some of that lean if you think he is better than Chris Bosh.

If Bosh wasn't hyped up to be a MAX player and future hall of famer (which he isn't) he would be a improvement on Scola. But at the price that it would take to get him here and the contract expected, he isn't worth it. Bosh is a sidekick at best, because when he had the chance to lead a team in the wide open Eastern conference he never got past the first round. You can say what you will about potential but as the star in Toronto he didn't do squat and the team would be limited for several seasons with his contract and the players we had to give up. Bosh and a recovering Yao alone wouldn't have made us a contender and by the time we had the tools to do so, Yao would either be gone or at the tail end of his career and the same goes for Martin and Bosh.
