Ok, Chris Bosh will be signing with Miami, let's move on. It was pretty unrealistic that he would sign here anyway.

Let's re-sign Scola and then focus on a trade for Danny Granger. I have no idea what it would take to land Granger, but I'm assuming Kyle Lowry would have to be part of it as Indiana has already met with Lowry as a RFA and seems to covet him. I would also think that Battier's expiring contract may be involved as well but apart from that, I'm not sure. What I am sure of is a starting five that looks like this:

    PG: Brooks
    SG: Martin
    SF: Granger
    PF: Scola
    C: Yao

looks pretty good. Two years ago, we took the eventual NBA champion Lakers to 7 games with basically the same team we will have next year, minus Artest but plus Martin and Yao. Add Granger and a new and improved Brooks to that lineup and there's no reason to think that we wouldn't finish in the top 4 seeds in the West next year. So let's move in on Danny Granger and make our team elite!

One thing I also wanted to add is that Indiana has a ton of SF's on their roster.

Paul George, Mike Dunleavy, Tyler Hansbrough, etc... Dunleavy will be the 2 guard next year and the Pacers keep saying that Paul George will play significant minutes. The only way he does that is if Granger is traded.

Ok now the first thing that Pacers want is a good young PG. Minnesota offered them Johny Flynn PLUS Al Jefferson and they got rejected by Pacers. I don't think we can do better package than Wolves.

That could have been rejected for any number of reasons. Jefferson is coming off knee surgery and plays no defense. Flynn is a rookie. Who knows? All I'm saying is that Granger is definitely on the block and I'd make a deal for him.

Splitter is a spurs untouchable. Probably more than any player on their roster.

I doubt Granger is on the block. He has an excellent contract for the team and is a solid building block.

Spurs have no bench and only thanks to Minny setting the market value Splitter is likely to command the full MLE.

They almost traded him 2 wks ago. New Jersey (I believe) backed out because they didn't want to trade #3 for #10 like that and only get Yi.

I just looked it up on bleacher report and Minnesota offered Indiana Flynn and two late first round selections for Granger and were turned down. Al Jefferson was not involved.

The Al Jefferson trade was what Minnesota offered Indiana in the middle of the season.

    Jefferson for Granger straight up.

    Indiana declined that.

I would not have traded a young star in Granger for Jefferson who is coming off knee surgery. Don't get me wro0ng, Jefferson is an elite player, but I wouldn't do it.

All of the trade scenarios involving Indiana before and after the draft have been built around them landing a PG. They have already met with Kyle Lowry as a RFA, so they are known to have interest in him.

indiana's head coach was interviewed during their summer league game, and he mentioned that the pacers are looking for a veteran point guard. also they are trying to decide whether lance stephenson can play point guard.

I'd take the Harris, Yi, Derrick Favors for Granger deal.

If I were the Rockets GM I'd offer Lowry, Martin, and Budinger + a possible pick for Granger. That's a good starting point.

If we give up Martin, we wouldn't be improving the team. We would fill a hole at SF by creating one at SG. I think this is where our great depth comes in. Lowry, draft pick (maybe even a Knicks pick) and either Budinger (most likely), Hill or Taylor.
