Let's say the Heat get some decent role players.

Can Bosh be as helpful as Gasol was to Kobe?

He doesn't really strike me as that guy... but then again Gasol didn't excite me either before becoming a Laker.

But I think Gasol was only that great because of Phil Jackson.

Bosh, to me, is similar to Jermaine O'Neal... wasn't JO regarded as one of the league's best big men some years back?

I have to say though... I'm rooting for Wade to win a championship. He is the league's most exciting player, bar none. Just watch this guy's highlight reels on youtube... he makes the most insane shots.

No. Look at the Yao/Mcgrady experiment.

It's all about depth and they definitely won't have that.

Those are bad poll options btw. He will help but they won't be true title contenders.

Plus, Gasol went to a deep Lakers team. You're comparing apples to oranges.

    No.

None of the three big free agents are going to win a championship anytime soon because none of them are signing with contenders and are instead going for franchises that are not winners. This is much ado about nothing.

they'll have a great reg. season record, but will need depth for the playoffs. we will see how the team transforms as the season progresses.

if they add some depth, to the bench esp., they will be title contenders. they have arguably the best 1-2 punch if the trade goes down.

No. But if they bring in Haywood and Allen on top of that, they're close.

Forgetting a little thing called injury?

And I wouldn't call that a deep lakers team too. Gasol is good, dont know why people try so hard to underrate him.

He will help a lot, but there are no shortcuts. You need stars and you need role players.

Kobe and Gasol were formidable, but they still needed Fisher, Artest, Odom, and Bynum to come up big at key moments during the playoffs.

Wade/Bosh alone can go to the 2nd round (and both will have to do a lot of heavy lifting to get there) but after that they will need help.

Orlando, boston(if healthy) and Cleveland would skin them alive.

They weren't injured against Dallas or Utah. Ya we got screwed against Dallas but that's besides the point.

We didn't have enough around Yao/Mcgrady esp in the Dallas series. Bob Sura was playing on one leg against them.

And on the Lakers. I think most will agree that they've been pretty stacked for the past 3 seasons.. Kobe, Odom, Fisher, Bynum, Ariza then Artest, etc will be head and shoulders above the team they surround Bosh with.

If he signs outright, then yes. But if they do a S&T and give away assets, it could be tough.

It doesnt matter if he is Gasol to Wade. They dont have an Artest, Odom, Bynum, Figher, or Ariza on the team. The Lakers would have Gasol and when they meet them if they ever did get past Celtics and Magic first? They would still have no other players assuming they did the Signa nd trade and lost even more depth. If they didnt do the SNT they still only have a small frontline compaired to the Celtics and Lakers and less depth with basically Wade Vs Kobs and Bosh vs Gasol and then their bench outplays Heat most definately and so do the starters.

If Miami finishes FA with the additions of Bosh, Haywood, and Allen, they have no shot. That's pretty much ZERO bench and not even a big 3. That's barely better than our T-Mac/Yao teams.

Boston, Cavs with Lebron, Orlando would all be equal or better.

The Lakers have two other skilled 7-footers besides Gasol. So no, Miami is a long way from getting to the Lakers' level even if they get Bosh and Wade.

I still don't get why Bosh wants Miami over Houston. If he signs outright, he won't get the full money. If he SnT, Miami will have to gut their already thin roster. And Wade is not young. By the time they assemble a decent squad of role players, Wade may be declining.

I guess Morey has overestimated Bosh's IQ.

Their roster seems kind of decimated. So yeah he could, if they you know, shore up C, PG, SF, but unlikely.

They need to bring in a veteran PG and a true Center that can guard Howard.
