Sources: LeBron James will announce decision on his free agency Thursday at 9pm EST

My question is, what are they going to fill that full hour with? Makes me wonder if this wasn't the plan all along and that's why Bosh and Wade were walking around with a film crew. They plan on filling in that hour with the so called documentary they were filming and ending it with the announcment of what team or teams they selected.

This is so wrong, in many ways. If every free agency from now on becomes a drama like this, the whole league needs to change the way it operates. One more reason I'm not watching BSPN.

And Lebron's going back to Cleveland. More money.

 

Don't forget 15 minutes will be devoted directly to Stuart Scott making "Today is the day that...hmm...this guy named...LeBron James...is making his announcement. Apparently, he's kind of a big deal" and "Could he go to Chicago? There was another guy that played there if memory serves...a one...Michael Jordan?" jokes.

It will probably just summarize the big gatherings the three free agents had together.

There will likely be images of the three dining together. Video of them feeding each other during said dinner. Discussing free agency, their hair ("Chris, your new cut is simply MAH-VOLOUS!"), and how the perm last week didn't go quite as planned. How certain organizations seemed like nice guys but weren't really the type they wanted a long-term relationship with.

Afterwards they'll talk about how bad this dinner was for their diet ("Oh puh-leaze Dwayne, your thighs aren't getting bigger!"). When dessert course is served, they'll eye it, playing tip-toe around it, not certain if they want to eat it or if they'd prefer to watch their weight.

Then the conference call about to occur will also be included, I'm sure. One of the three crying to the others: "How could you do this to me?! I thought you loved me! You skank!" The other two stone-faced, stoic, trying to hide their emotions. After all, they had been through this tumultuous free agency together, a period of time that no other NBA player has ever had before. It's something worth documenting: the emotions, the fights, the meetings, the emotions, the money, the friendships made and broken, and did I mention the emotions?

Rage will turn to sorrow to acceptance. "Fine, go where you will! Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!" The conference call will end abruptly, the drone of Skype echoing in the camera as they cut to black. Then it will slowly light up again, a sports analyst-- perhaps even Solomon-- teary eyed, struck by the MAGNITUDE of it all. How could someone making so much money and being loved by so many people playing the sport they loved have such a hard life... for a couple of weeks? Sympathetic comments abound, professing the greatness of these players, their legendary status, how much they've overcome to get where they are today.

The decision will then be announced after a final commercial break, and then a bunch of monkeys will gather around to type out Shakespeare.

...Or it could just be some sort of montage of LBJ, I dunno.

 

And there is no way that Lebron goes no national TV to announce and he's jumping ship and leaving hometown team behind. He'd do it in a much quieter way if he chose to leave. So Cleveland it is.

Stuart Scott looks directly into your soul with his eye. He literally made a r****ded deaf kid **** his pants just by looking at him for too long. Fo realz!

 

If there really is an hour long special, and LeChoke actively participates in it, he will become the most ridiculed player in the league. I have no doubt that most fans will turn against him for this. It's going to hurt his endorsement opportunities, as well. Seriously, I can't believe his agent is stupid enough to let him do this.

he's doing all this for the adoration, trying to command respect, getting fame, fortune, etc. but hey those are his actions and those seem to be his priorities and goals and I have no problem with that at all. For those thinking this guy will be challenging Kobe anytime soon in basketball history can kiss those hopes goodbye, Kobe will keep on winning, this Lebron guy will keep on building his brand and expanding everything else but his basketball winning resume

Uuuuumm, you *do* realize that July 8th (the day this "announcement" is to be made) is the first day teams can sign free agents...not the last.

FA period starts on July 1 when teams can start to talk to players, teams can not OFFICIALLY sign those players till July 8th...but the FAs can still sign for quite some time after that.

 

I think he is going to NJ who was supposed to make a lot noise but remain so quiet recently.
