To be clear, I want Bosh in Houston and think the Rockets have the most to offer Toronto in a sign and trade. I just think that the optimism that we are even a plan c is misguided. Pinning our hopes to Steven A. Smith and Chris Broussard reports (that's all we got folks) is fools gold.

What are you basing your pessimism on? Why do you not think we are even a plan c?

I havent seen this mentioned very much..if at all.. but if Bosh signed with Houston, not only would be getting the 6yr max deal, but also the endorsements that would come from China.

If players like Chuck Hayes, Shane Battier, and Steve Francis (when he signed back with us as a FA) can have endorsements from China, I am sure that Bosh will have NO PROBLEMS receiving more endorsements than they did. Clearly, Bosh wants to go where he can maximize has chances for more $$ and championships.

If he goes to Miami or Chicago.. it may be a couple of years before they have chances at winning the title. If he goes with Cleveland, chances are MUCH greater. But seeing how he doesnt wanna go Cleveland, Houston may be the best chances for him not only get the $$$ but also the RING...which from what i hear is also worth a lot of $$$!

I think Yao Ming's injury history would keep marquee players away from the Rockets. Other teams courting Bosh could argue that he would end up in another Toronto-like situation in Houston. I'm not saying it is fair, but that argument is there. Also, it seems to me that Henry Thomas wants to pair Bosh up with Wade. I hope I am wrong, but that's my take.

RicBucher: Wade/Bosh know Chi is the best existing unit they could join + they'd be dominant. But 1 or both wd have to give up $30m. That's the rub.

Wade should just give Bosh $15m, so they'll both shutup and go away.

If I was Chi-Town screw this Wade/Bosh crap, sign Wade and load up on great role players to surround the Wade/Rose/Noah nucleus. Rose/Wade/Deng/Gibson/Noah plus a great bench would be better then Cleveland, Boston and right there with Orlando if not better.

I think that too, especially if you have to give up Noah in a Bosh sign and trade. Noah is the ideal big guy to anchor your team if you have a couple of backcourt studs like Rose and Wade - doesn't need the ball to be effective and anchors you on defense.

The problem appears to be the bizarre love triangle with LBJ/Wade/Bosh, though - would Wade sign there as the only free agent? I agree it would make sense for him and be better than Wade+Bosh+10 scrubs in Miami, but I'm starting to fear that these guys have let the whole process get to their heads. We'll see...

Why is it that you think that they have to have an actual meeting for the Rockets to be in condsideration? Did the Rockets' have direct meetings with Sacramento when they traded for Martin, with NY when they traded for Hill and picks, with Sacaramento when they traded for Artest? No they didn't but some how all of those players are now or were wearing Rockets red.

The thing is, those guys were traded. Bosh is a free agent meaning he's the one to decide where he is going not the team!

    A voice of reason !

I want him to say "I want to play in Houston"

The last thing I want is a guy who is just chasing money and not really all that into being in H-Town.

You missed my point which was that just because a face to face meeting didn't occur doesn't mean that there has not been any communication between Bosh's camp and Morey.

I don't want him to say anything about Houston, because other teams will come in and try and steal him/provide "better" packages for him.

You guys do not understand, it does not matter what other teams offer, it matters where Bosh wants to go...and then Toronto will work out a sign and trade.

It happens ALL THE TIME...never, not ONE STINKING TIME, has a team been able to force a free agent to sign somewhere they don't want to go.

Bosh decides, if he gives a list to Toronto they will work out the best solution for themselves....

So far, we are NOT ON THE LIST.

You really are becoming borderline obsessed with this one point. People are just hopeful...let them be

Oh, I'm sorry all great and knowing DD, that I have a different opinion than you. It's happened plenty of times before. The Rockets (or player) talk up each other, and someone else comes in and messes it all up.

You've seen Bosh's official list? I haven't. ESPN hasn't. You should post some of your insider information more often!

So far, we are not on the MEDIA-REPORTED list. That's a very important distinction you keep failing to include. Morey said it himself before free agency - visits to the teams with cap room will be the ones you hear about, because that creates the leverage.

Now, I don't KNOW the Rockets to have had back-channel communications - don't take it the wrong way. But it's very much possible and not that unlikely, so I'd be careful before making too many declarative statements on this...
