Oh I'm still sold on him from a basketball standpoint, if he's idiotic enough to choose Houston over Cleveland if the money is the same, I'd still welcome him with open arms....I'm just a bit perplexed that he's miss such an opportunity as this, all this time I thought Cleveland just didn't have enough to offer in a sign and trade, and to hear that Toronto actually agreed, and Bosh rejected? I'm dumb founded, but hey, I'll still take him if he comes here
It's the same reason that San Antonio give us Scola for Spanoulis. It's the best deal they can get to improve their team.
Odd, that article says that Cleveland is the most enticing option for Toronto to negotiate a S&T. I would think that Scola+Ariza/Battier+picks would be a lot more attractive than Varejao, Hickson, others.
If that really is the entire package, then Stern or others are at work to push Bosh to Cleveland. That is a complete joke unless Cleveland also takes some crap contracts from Toronto with Bosh.
Since they are rebuilding, winning more games or a championship may not be their priority. It's not like they're going to be fighting with CLE for a playoff spot once Bosh is traded. Stranger things have happened, like getting Luis Scola for The Spurs for practically free.
Point 1. There's speculation that Bosh doesn't want Cleveland. There's speculation that Bosh doesn't want to be a center. Those are the only two things I know of that Bosh doesn't want, speculatively speaking. Point 2. He and the Raps have never mentioned Houston in a positive or negative way. We were just left out of all conversations. Keeping the two point in mind, if you were a fan of Hou, Chi, Mia, Cle, NJ or NY, who do you think is sleeping better at nights? The point I'm trying to make is that there is something to be said being an unmentioned team. I think it's our ace in the hole.
He lives in Dallas while he plays for Toronto, can't see why he can't continue doing that? I know Cleveland sucks and all that (as a city), but this truly would be a rare opportunity. There are very few guarantees in the NBA, but if I had to bet money on it, I'd say Bosh + James in Cleveland who already have some solid veterans in place would amount to a champion in the very near future.
Exactly.... and that was a horrible trade by SA, I think if they could go back in time they would not have traded him to Houston, most likely to a team in the East. I just don't believe that's the best offer on the table for the Raptors, this has to be a bluff.....Hopefully
There has to be more than those 4 players in return for Bosh. There just has to be because none of them come close to Bosh's talent level. I think this is another case of reports coming out to drive up the price for other teams interested in doing a sign-and-trade for Bosh, namely Chicago. NJ and Miami lack assets; I think the main asset they can offer is draft picks. I'm guessing that Chicago is lowballing them and not budging. Toronto realizes they dont need to do a S&T at all, and Chicago realizes that w/o a S&T, Bosh isnt going anywhere. Hence the back and forth. Whoever gets Bosh is going to have to deplete a significant chunk of the teams roster. And if thats the case, I'd rather not have the Rockets trip over themselves to get Bosh.
thats a very good point......obviously, there is something else about playing for Clev or with Lebron that is turning him off
