There was talk of a 3 way trade with Portland and the Spurs for Deng.

Yeah, that's what I was saying above about the Miami 1st round pick. So the question is, will Toronto be fine with the PTE + pick. If so, I see that deal going down. The Rockets though have their own compelling S&T offer, but if Bosh is set in Miami he can force their hand. Like I said above, Miami is the #1 opponent of the Rockets right now in the chase for Bosh.

Is the TE enough to work the SnT? Future draft picks count 0$ in the financial equation. Obviously, they are coveted by the teams, but they don't help match salaries.

Yeah, you're right... it makes it interesting, but I wonder what Toronto thinks of their own pick vs. the pick of the Rockets-or-Knicks. I know most understand it, but I think some still think we own the Knicks' pick next year -- we own the right to flip picks with them. So what we would actually be trading is our own pick (which comes with the right to flip picks with NYK). That gives the Raps two chances for it to be a good pick (one Yao injury for the Rockets and you never know...).

I have to think though that Miami is still the favorite for Bosh. I'm sure he's going to exhaust all of the "with Wade" options first.

Of course, Morey could just sweenten the pot to Toronto, to make them dig in their heels. Say Scola, Hill, Buddinger and one of the NY picks/swap rights. That's expensive as hell, but I'd do it. Morey has proven he can find quality depth, and that starts with PatPat this year. We need the star.

If I'm coangelo, that's good haul for a rebuild. Enough to call Bosh's bluff to sign w Miami outright and leave 30MM on the table.

I'm rooting for Wade to Chicago. Bosh aint going to stag it to Maimi.

Well that just means we all have to get out there and cheer on Wade going to the Bulls. I am down for being a Bulls fan. Always enjoyed telling the Lakers fans Jordan was better than Kobe. That always spoiled a win for them. :)

Yeah, that "sweetening" has already started. That's why we saw that Y! report from Spears about the Rockets looking to move Ariza,Battier,Scola in deals. You already can image that the Picks,Hill,Budinger have been thrown out. Not all together, but in certain combinations. I think that was a way of Morey getting the Raptors attention so that they would play hardball with Bosh in S&Ts.

I am not a homer. But I think the Rockets have better trade chips to deal to the Raptors than the Heat. And I think Bosh has kind of played out his hand here by only going for the FULL 6 years versus signing with Miami outright. I think the Raptors can play a bit of hardball here enough to make Bosh have to reconsider options.

Totally correct. LeBron going back to Cleveland and Wade to the Bulls really helps the Rockets. Bulls knowing they can't move Deng in S&Ts and don't want to move Noah, uses the rest of the cap space on Lee or Boozer. That leaves Bosh's only choice to Houston. And the the Heat are screwy royally!

This is what I believe the most. I think the Rockets have what the Raptors want and for Bosh only wanting a 6 year max that gives the Raptors as much power to help him choose. They want the Rockets deal and hardball with Morey is too much to pass up. That should make Bosh want to come him even more knowing he has a GM like that. I think as long as he doesnt cave for 5 year max or Toronto caves for a lesser deal? Rockets willl be donning Bosh in his new jersey in Houston on July 8th.

There still is the overwhleming fact that Miami with Wade, Bosh, and a bunch of minimum salary players is going to be much less of a winning proposition than the Rockets even if Yao isnt healthy. What have the Heat done since Shaq left? Nothing! Oh yeah, DWades been hurt, but nobody seems to mention that. I thought Bosh was smarter than this. Rockets were a 40 win team with no Yao or Bosh.

I think Budinger is gone if there's any kind of deal at all. Morey said he was the third most sought after Rocket.

Also all this off-season hype surrouding Taylor comes off as being calculated. Especially with the "Adelman wants him to get minutes, thinks he can be a starter"-talk

you mean to tell me the only thing keeping miami from getting wade and bosh is the toronto pick? i highly doubt they would let something like that keep them from getting those two players. especially if wade is on the verge of signing with the bulls.

Man, I want Bosh, but until I hear him actually say " I am considering Houston" and they get an actual meeting, I think it is all pie in the sky and we are being used as a way to get what he wants.

After a quick number crunch, I think the probability of landing Bosh is... 32.33 Repeating of course, percentage of success.

Exactly. I'd trade Budinger definatley before Ariza. It seems Trevor will blossom with Yao next year

EXACTLY!! The man hasnt even deemed it necessary to give Morey a real meeting. I have not read one report, saw one video or overheard any single shread of information that says, BOSH is interested joining the Rockets. Am i missing something here? Dont the player have to want to play for the rockets in order for us to sign and trade for the player?

How so? Miami or Chicago can't offer better packages than the Rockets.

I assume that DM and Colangelo have been talking for a while. They can basically force Bosh to choose Houston.

    Not necessarily. See above.

We are probably his third option but he isn't going to walk away from the extra cash.

It seems like this has been mentioned a million times. Where have you guys been ?

Yep. I dont know what it is but the Rockets are the best team in all of this. Chicago has more history thats about it. No market is bigger than us besides New York and LA possibly. Even then they dont get Super Bowl like numbers on TV regular season games watched like we do internationally. Dont know what Bosh wants but we have it except he may not want it. You know young people. They want what they want. Cant make them change their minds. Hopefully its all good. Rockets mean well and their fans. They just want to win.
