Are referencing Donnie? If so, the funny thing is three of the worse front offices are involved in one trade. It's like an episode of the 3 Stooges.
Morey should make it a 4-way deal just to rape Walsh again lmao that would be awesome and funny as hell
one thing ur forgetting here.. Darko Milicic is the starting C he jus agreed to that 4yr/20 mil deal.. Lee and Love would be splittin time at the 4.. but in some instances when Love subs in Lee could perhaps slide to the 5 in that sense
That would be pretty good place for all players involved. Knicks are making moves. Looks like they didnt get duped by the Rockets in giving up that trade after all? Since its all working out to improve their team now.
Don't forget that other season when the Suns won only 29 games? Amare missed 18 straight games to his ankle. He came back for 10 days. Then, he was out for another 9 straight games. It was also D'Antoni's first season with the Suns.
This makes me a little frustrated because the Rockets don't appear to be pursuing other options besides Bosh and Stoudemire. I would think Al Jefferson would be someone the Rockets would be interested in. Are they waiting to see how the Bosh situation plays out before doing anything else? And if so, are they watching their options evaporate in the meantime?
They should make the perfect match, since I have to ask "what does D'Antoni know about defense." You could put him on 2003-04 Pistons and that team defense goes from being great to being slightly above average.
I was just reading on realgm that Bosh may SnT w/NYKs using a resigned Lee which the Raptors are fine with. That might cause NY to back away from their verbal agreement with Amare (if Lebron or Wade want to join him). That would put him back on the streets with limited options. Can't help but chuckle on that one.
Kahn is hard to figure out. So far none of his moves have really improved Minny, but he hasn't destroyed them (yet) either. So far it seems he has a shaky drafting record, but doesn't overpay scrubs, and that makes him better than lots of other GMs. I have a feeling he is a "horse trader" type that values gathering assets he likes (regardless of positional redundancy) over getting pieces that fit, but it's too early to say. If his team continues to do badly he might luck out on a high draft pick or have enough assets to pounce on a disgruntled star in the future, so it's hard to say how good or bad he'll be.
Before last year started he had missed MORE games than Yao over his career and they were drafted in the same year. Granted, now Yao has almost a season of missed games over him, but at the start of last season Yao had a bigger injury reputation despite missing less games that Amare.
ok so they have both been out an entire year over their careers. yao has missed more games. not to mention all of yaos injuries are to the legs/feet, all broken bones.
I mean the guy has had the team for a little over one year, has made some spotty draft choices in two drafts including signing a guy who specifically said he didn't want to play for them(which by the way, has never worked out for a team - not with Vancouver and Francis or Memphis and Kobe), has alienated his best player in Jefferson, signed Darko to be his starting Center which so far hasn't worked out for any team, seems infatuated with PGs, SFs, and PFs, and hired a rookie coach who played Kevin Love at the SF for a stretch of games(???). You could argue the team isn't any worse than it was, but considering they were a cellar dweller when he took over and after many transactions they are no better than they were speaks to the overall impression most have of him that he just doesn't seem to get the part about putting together a team. He makes transactions but doesn't build a team - you can't if your stocking up on PGs & SFs while you have so many other needs. Maybe he flips those guys into need positions down the road, but how does he showcase those guys to move them if he has so many? Trust me, this guy will go down as an awful GM.
You do understand that an ACL injury means that it is highly likely that another such injury will occur, don't you?
...my point is the injury history for Amare is just as long as it has been for Yao. Look it up - before the 2009-2010 season started Amare had missed more games. You can argue Yao's broken bone history is scarier than Yao but if you name the scariest injuries to happen to NBA players, you'll find Amare has had several of those injuries - his toes, ACL, and knee requiring microfracture surgery in addition to the freak eye accident. Maybe it's not broken bones, but he has a significant history of leg injuries which are never good for a player who hinges on his athleticism. At least Yao's game doesn't rely on him spinning off players and exploding the the hoop.
If you ask me, NY is setting themselves up to be Golden State East. Monta Ellis is exactly the type of short term "gotta get somebody" strategy that put New York in the mess it was in during the Isiah years....I mean Monta Ellis is signed to one of the most hideous contracts in the NBA - why is New York drawn to those players?
Well they need to suck out loud this next season but the following season we at least need them to find 5-6 teams who are worse.
monta was good for my fantasy team..... i glad wins and defense arent fantasy stats. My prediction for points next year: NY 109.4; OPP 115.8
