Was it ever confirmed that the Rockets were offering both Ariza and Battier in a single proposal?

I interpreted it to mean that among the various offers made, Ariza, Battier and Scola were involved, without any specification to combinations.

In other words, maybe one offer involved Ariza + Scola and another involved Battier + Scola, not necessarily Ariza + Battier.

I don't know if we could land both Anthony Morrow and Randolph by just giving up Ariza and Battier, but adding this two guys we could become something special! even if we don't add one of the big free agents this summer.

Battier can shoot from the outside... especially the corner 3, his favorite spot.

This proves my point. Morrow shot 40+% from the 3 pt line two straight seasons. Randolph has increased his rebound percentage as well as averaging double figure scoring right after coming back from injury. You guys can make corny jokes and show me burning horses if you want, but you all know that i have a good argument here. Why waste time on overpriced chumps when you have two young guys with HUMONGOUS potential and upside available. Alas, by the time Rockets management get through kissing Bosh's ass, they will be on someone elses team.

Tsk, tsk. Ye of little faith, do you not trust Morey to keep his options open while pursuing Bosh? Wasn't he the one that slipped into 11th hour discussions for Amare at the trade deadline while everyone was still digesting the McGrady trade?

Yeah, i trust him. It's just that other teams are making moves everyday adding to their teams. Like today, our most hated rivals, the Lakeshow, made a move and a couple of other teams made moves also. I am also still a little shaken up by last weeks draft. One PF( although a good one ) and thats it. Me, you and thousands of others were expecting more. Now they are sittind back( at least thats how it seems ) waiting while good talent is available.

let me give this a shot. morey has stated that in order to have a championship level team, roster, we need to have all-star talent. role-players are easy to get, either through draft or trade, but an all-star level talent is very hard to get.

look at the past few champions. lakers, boston, detroit, chicago, houston. well, the list goes on and on. but you get the point.

morrow and randolph, although very interesting prospects with lots of perhaps upside, are not going to make a difference IMO. if anything, one or both of them will just take up roster space and sit at the end of the bench.

With both Ariza and Battier I already termed Rox wing defense as one of the weakest wing defense in the league. I shudder to think what would happen with them out of the team and Morrow in the team........

Try a trade of the anthonys for James/Wade/Bosh, heck try it for Dirk/PP/Joe Johnson even Rudy Gay and see whats the answer.

    Serious discussion indeed......

The Official let's go after Melo Thread.......

Carmelo Anthony is rumored to be on the trading block as many of you know. I think the guy is one of the top 5 players in the NBA. Imagine the inside out game with him and Yao. Melo is a beast on the low block as well. Look, if this rumor is true and there is a chance Melo will be traded why not Houston ? We have young assets, draft picks, as well as a owner that is willing to give the guy a max contract after this year. This is the official Carmelo Anothony thread ! It doesn't look like Bosh is gonna happen so plan B should be Melo. next up.......CARMELO4ROCKETS.COM

I would rather miss the playoffs than have a cheap-shot sucker-punch artist like Melo wear a Rocket uniform. It would be a shame to our team.

Melo would help us a lot, but I think it's just another rumor and nothing more...

Can you elaborate on the incident(s) you're referring to? I'm not aware of that. Thanks. Was it something in NY w/Isiah involved somehow?

Not to rain on your parade. The latest rumor I heard is Carmelo is about to sign an extension. But of course that is just a rumor.
