Have to give Dirk props for taking a much lesser deal. He could have gotten 96+ million extension but he chose to sign a 80 million extension to help the Mavs to add another impact player.

Hate him or love him Cuban has shown Dirk a lot of loyalty. It's cool to see Dirk return the favor. These are the kinds of scenarios that are possible when management treats a player the right way.

props to dirk, not too often you see someone leaving 15 million on the table, only comparable one I have seen i think is with duncan who took a paycut of 5 million...per year.

Ultimately he's doing it out of self interest. He want's to win and ensure his legacy.

Taking 4 million dollars less a year really isn't helping much.

No matter what that idiot Mark Cuban does, that team will never win a championship.

If he really wanted to win, he should have signed with the Bulls or revamped Nets. The Mavs roster is meh, especially if Hayward's out. They need to hit one out of the park with Dampier's deal.

Imagine if the Nets / Bulls got LeBron AND Dirk.

    Rose
    James
    Deng
    Dirk
    Noah

    or

    Harris
    James
    Favors
    Dirk
    Lopez

Bulls' lineup is solid, but that Nets lineup looks absolutely sick.

Ok 2 players re-signing so far. Could this start a long trend? LerBon? Wade? Bloozer? Bosh?
