Why do you think the Rockets traded Joel because he wasn't weren't the cap space. In doing so they acquired an extra pick in what most experts say the best draft in years. Come next year when dream retireshe will cut 16 million of the cap. How else will be a free agent on the Rockets roster.I think we should try and use the exception and any other player's to get guy's who are on the last year of their contract, and draft picks.

I have an excellent trade to propose:
1.Bulls get: Walt Williams and the trade exception.
2.Rockets get: Hersey Hawkins and the Bulls draft pick in the 2001 draft protected through the top 3.

P.S. Does any no how much were over the cap?

The Bulls won't give up their pick.
The Bulls don't want a guy making 4.5 million.
You can't give away the trade exception. It must be used to take on more salary.
Right now, are approximately 18 million (or more) over the cap. Next year, we should be around 15-20 million under the cap.

    Trade or bench Kenny Thomas.

What does this have to do with Magic? I wanted Pig to be sawed in half and Drew to dissappear.

Hey Nike. I think your numbers are skewed. No way the Rockets are gonna be under the cap 15 to 20 million next year.

CK-We'll be 18 million under if we don't sign any FAs (except for 1 year deals) and trade Walt for a guy who'll be a free agent.

What about Mobley? I thought he was going to get a fat paycheck.

Also, dont the Rockets just need 9 to 11 mill to lure Webber anyway? What is the max to pay him?

Plus, Shandon won't have bird rights until the following year. So he'll at least cut into that free space by $7 M. Maybe he can be convinced to sign for the max the following year if he waits one more year.

I was figuring out the max we can pay Webber, and if I remember right, it was 12 mill.

Crisco-I did figure in a 4 million contract for Mobley (Early Bird)

Achebe-Next year, if davo's info is correct, we have a team option on Shandon for 2.4 mill. So, we can take the option, sign Webber and whatever other trinkets you wish, such as our picks, extra free agents, till we're up to the cap, and then next year, Shandon has full bird rights, and we can gladly give him a nice 6-7 mill contract, or more. I don't think Shandon would get in the way of signing Webber either, do you?
