It looks like we may get to see a whole Yao game at a resonable time for a change. 9pm Eastern time this Saturday.

I have a feeling that Yao is not going to fair so well the second time around against USA. It will resemble more of what Yao did in the second half when he was only able to score 2 points. Karl knows that Yao is all that the Chinese team has so Yao will get constant double teams and anything else to keep the ball out of his hands. The inexperienced Chinese coach’s will not be able to counter this and really could any American coaches with the lack of guard play that the Chinese team has.

Unfortunately a bad game will bring out all of the Yao Ming nay sayers again but many people will fail to mention how much attention the US team put on him. At least he will still be a force in the middle defensively though.

If I remember correctly, Yao hurt his finger near the end of the 1st half. That has a part in him not scoring. Well, that and the guards being REALLY BAD! :)

I have a feeling Yao Ming will have a very good game ( not big stats, but solid performance).

You know what? I think I'll just skip the game.

Yeah right! :) I'll be tuned in an hour early...or maybe just 1 minute early.

    I shouldn't say this....no don't.....stop...I hate myself....

Actually my sister is getting married tomorrow, which will be her second. My parents don't really like the guy, since he doesn't work and has an attitude. But they'll be there. They asked me and I said, "....Hmm....I wanna watch Yao Ming."

    I know...I'm an evil person. :(

The sad part about this game is that in order for China to advance to the 2nd round of the tournament they must beat the US which isn't going to happen.

I've enjoyed watching Ming play in the World's and am not ready for China to go home.

EDIT: I just read on ESPN that all teams will continue play into the second round. link

I think the top three teams in each group advance, and the last place teams play for 13-16. With China's win today, they will finish third in their group. Unless they win tomorrow.

Boy can't wait for this game. It'll be interesting to see how the US big men play him now that they've gotten a taste.

I don't know, outside of Jermaine O'Neal that frontcourt didn't impress me one bit. The majority of that game against Germany was U.S. guards chucking up shots and the big men rebounding. Then again for whatever reason George Karl barely played Brand near the end, and Brand has just been abusing international big men.
