Anyone know the rule about gift giving?

    This might be a stupid question but....


    What are the rules towards gift giving to free agents? Morey gave bosh an ipad (albeit only a couple hundred dollars) and chicago sent lebron a pair of shoes (and some clutchfanner said they better be authentic which might fetch a couple grand).


    I know this is chump change compared to the contracts they are after, but there must be a rule somewhere to stop someone like cuban or prokorov from buying them a yacht and an personal island.

    Little known, probably oft-broken CBA rule these days: Teams are only allowed to give free agents gifts of $500 value or less.
