At the risk of offending tinman, Bosh clearly a better player than Thorpe. They're on different levels as players.

Thorpe was a role player... Bosh would be our superstar. Sometimes, people here really overrate the old Rockets' players.

No contest, Bosh is the better player HOWEVER Thorpe was a perfect complement to Dream.

Sorry, all-star. I said he would be "our" superstar though, as he would be the best player on our team. I agree that overall he's an all-star though, and hasn't made it to the next step to superstardom.

Me too. Bosh is more talented, but he lacks OT's toughness.

dont forget thorpe was a beast on the boards and defended well. yeah he was a role player but he was capable of being a 20 10 guy and an all star.

OT used to throw the basketball down-court like a baseball.
For that alone, Otis is my man.

OT was more like Scola in that in the right system, he could be a 20/10 guy, but as a killer role player, not a guy you would build a team around.

He was great, no doubt, but I believe people are expecting a lot of upside and growth from Bosh.

OT was a better defender; Bosh is better on the offensive end of the floor.

Offensively, Thorpe's game can't compare to Bosh's in terms of range, but people shouldn't underestimate Thorpe's game. He toned his game down to play with the Rockets and next to Hakeem. He used to go ape on us when we played the Kings. It would've been interesting to see how he would have progressed had he stayed with the Kings. Despite this, and given a choice, my hunch is I'd take Bosh.

Echoing DoD, Thorpe was a 20/10 guy his last year with the Kings. As was previously mentioned, he was exactly what we neeed then and pretty much what we need right now. All around toughness, good on the boards, could move over and play legit center, and that baseball pass was a thing of beauty.

    Otis Thorpe!
People forget that he was the go to in Sac who avg 20/10 the previous two years before coming to Houston.
His scoring went down slightly when he came here and had to defer to Hakeem.
Plus put both in a cage Death-match who do you think comes out alive?
Bosh would be mini-me to Thorpe!

OT was a beast... the way he would rebound and then throw the basket ball like a grown man throwing grapes
