Elite teams have elite players. Those in the championship discussion have elite players, for the most part. There are a few exceptions to this rule over the history of the NBA. But more than any other sport, having the best player usually means being among the very best teams...if not being the best. We don't have a player even remotely in that vicinity right now on our team. I'd give up whatever they asked, ultimately.
Nailed it. When was the last time a team won a championship w/out a top 5 player in the entire league? Nay, even a top 3 player? In recent memory I can only think of the Pistons, but they had 5 all-star level guys at the time. Almost forgot about Boston, although the big 3 were all top 20 material.

CLE had the best record in the NBA 2 years in a row and never made it to the Finals. Not sure why anyone would vote 'anything CLE wants' knowing that.
