i hate the jazz but playing in sloan's system you know he will be smarter than the average player and would be a good backup to have with martin. the guy knows ball movement and back door cuts Lowry would rack up the assists like crazy would he a) be willing to sign for a MLE (or less) sized deal and b) would the rockets further want to hinder Taylor's and Budinger (provided that they are not traded) devlopement
legit thread, legit thread starter w/ an 8-year rep here. if u no likey then perhaps u should find another board that meets more with your thread desires. i'd use part or maybe even all of the MLE on him if we end up packaging battier or ariza in a trade for a big. it's nice to have 2 good wing defenders on the roster.

If Amare leaves the Suns... http://twitter.com/Gambo620 Could the Rockets make a push for Nash? It'd take a little help in the form of a trade demand from Nash to get the ball rolling. Sarver would want to hang onto Nash as he's the drawcard in Phoenix with or without Amare. Granger + Dunleavy (salary dump) $21,735,186 (min trade amt 17.389M) Hill + Lowry (S&T) + Ariza + Jeffries + NY pick + $3M $15.876M not including Lowry's salary Nash $10,310,938 (min trade amt $8.249M) Brooks + Taylor + Patterson + Hayes +NY pick + non-guaranteed contract (Johnson & Harris) + $3M $9.xM? Nash, Dunleavy Martin, Budinger Granger, Battier Scola, (Granger/Miller), Andersen Miller (vet min), Yao
I am in; This would be great for BOTH teams. Thabeet is a BUST in Memphis NMHO he would fit right in with us just like Dek did. Pull out D.Arthur and it's a DEAL
Was this something you heard or just a dream scenario? In any case, i like the way you think Mr. Officer sir! Also i would like to say that we are wasting too much time waiting on these 3 FA circus clowns. Besides, getting any one of them would put an unnecessary strain on the team finances. As i mentioned on another post, there are much better deals out there, not including any of the named stars and we wouldn't have to give up so much. By thetime we get a no from Bosh, everyone else will be off the table. The first order of business is to hurry and sign Brad Miller. That way if anything goes awry with the FA's, we would at least be set for the season.
The Anthony's Value Yesterday there was a big deal about Houston wanting to offer our two top wings( Battier and Ariza ) for a max FA. Whether it was true or just a ploy, it got me to thinking about value. Unlike the majority of posters here, i don't see the big deal with these three prima donnas that are currently holding the league hostage with their silly little " We are the ****" games. Let these three girls hold hands and play together in Miami. We don't need them. What we need is value. If Morey was serious about sending our 2 wings off in a trade for Amare or Bosh, then it would be a mistake. Using two players to get one doesn't make any sense when you can use one player to get 2. This is where the two Anthony's ( Morrow and Randolph ) come in. G. State would probably only ask for one wing and a filler to get those two. I would also like Biedrins, but not if we get Miller. Heres the kicker, we would still have the assets to make a successful s&t. I know you guys are hard on people making threads, but i only make threads because i want an in depth discussion about something and i feel this needs to be discussed fully. I would love for one or more of the MODS to comment if possible. Flame suit already on
Serious? Ariza Good: Defense, Length Bad: Cannot dribble the ball, inability to drive to the basket w/ball, Cannot Shoot Battier Good: Great Work Ethics, Glue to team chemistry, once in a blue moon will hit the 3's when you need it, and of course great D on the opposing wings. Bad: Can't shoot, Getting Older, cannot attack the rim.. For me these two for Stat,Bosh,Lebron,Wade,Cp3, is so worth it even if it includes Scola...
Rockets send: Aaron Brooks Trevor Ariza TE from Carl Landry trade 2011 Rights to Knicks Draft Pick for Pacers send: Danny Granger I know it seem pretty simple. I but It makes some sense. Rockets have to give up a lot, but Granger can be a wing finisher. He should probably drive more than he does right now, but he would easily replace the scoring that Brooks would. You have to give up Ariza to give them a reasonable SF. This would leave us with Battier as a wing defender, but Granger is not a slouch defensively. He has the length and athleticism to do so. Not to mention with Lowry now taking the starting PG spot, have Martin at SG is not as much a liability. Trade exception helps to make the money work out. Pacers need a starting PG badly. They have tried to find one for a long time, and have not found one. Interestingly enough. We seem to have 2 (depending on which poster you talk to). AB gives them a star PG to build around a fills a whole they have had for years. The Trade exception helps them get under the lux tax margin for this year, which saves them some money. Ariza is a starting worthy SF to good 6th man. He works well for them if they were to play Paul George at the SG and Dunleavy at PF. Lastly, even with the Knicks getting Amare, that pick will be a very good pick, likely Top 10, giving Pacers another young player to develop. Then in the post they already have Hibbert & Hansborough in the Post. You could dangle Hill if you Pacers won't find a better PG on the FA market, and even the ones there will make a good amount of money given how many teams are either under the cap or trying to become a contender. They do have a lot of players expiring this year and you at first would think they could use those to get a PG on their team, but their honestly are not that many options. The only real options I can think of would be Jose Calderon on the Raptors, Mo Williams on the Cavaliers, Baron Davis on the Clippers, and Gilbert Arenas on the Wizards. All have fairly bad contracts and are starting quality. However, the Raptors, Cavs, and Clippers have no one to replace them at this time even if they want to get rid of them. The Clippers are probably trying to see if they can make the playoffs with this team. So, I know that was super long, but that was my reasoning. Let me know what you think.
