If Carwin gets in a position like he was in the Gonzaga fight Brock will dismantle his head from his body.

My prediction: Someone wins by murderous tactics. Sidenote: Forrest Griffin was on 790am this morning and predicted Carwin would win by head kick. I doubt it, lol.
Brock is going to out wrestle Carwin. As soon as Carwin throws his first punch Lesnar is going to shoot and score a takedown. Carwin is going to get gassed by trying to get Lesnar off of him, which will make it easier for Brock to mount him and ground and pound him for the TKO...
BUMP. You're prediction sounds about right but I think if it stays on the ground long enough Carwin is going to KO Brock. I really like both fighters and there hasn't been a bigger heavyweight fight since Tyson-Holyfield. I really think Carwin/Lesnar are the 2 best heavyweights and I always thought that even before Fedor lost last week. I absolutely CAN NOT wait for this goliath matchup.
I have Cain ranked just above Carwin, with JDS fourth... The UFC HW division is going to produce some super fights in the near future, beginning with this one on Saturday.
Agreed I am pulling for Carwin in this one because I am not a big Lesnar fan, but I think Lesnar/Fedor would be the best heavyweight matchup in UFC history. Fedor finally lost, but it was a submission. Brock will not be trying to take it to the ground......they will bang it out until one of their heads fall off. (That's what she said) I think Fedor only has 1 fight left on his current contract, but I wonder if Dana White is going to hold any grudges......hopefully he will think about the ppv sales that fight plus a rematch or two would pull in
I don't think Lesnar will let it go to a slug-fest very long. If Carwin scores a hit or two, Lesnar will probably take it to the ground, assuming he's not KO'd. I haven't been convinced that Lesnar is very polished standing up, and his chin hasn't really been tested yet. So, unless Carwin slips in a KO punch early, I see it going to the ground where Lesnar will win.
This is pretty much how I see it going. Carwin is a good wrestler, but I don't know if he can withstand the onslaught of a Lesnar ground and pound. Once Lesnar gets him on the ground, he's in trouble. Carwin's best shot is to test Lesnar's chin as soon as he starts coming in for the the takedown. I think either fighter can win - I just hope nobody dies. lol. I want Carwin to win because the fact he's lie a Nerd Terminator/Mechanerd is pretty cool.
Not to mention the fact that if Carwin loses, all he makes from this is 40k (no share of ppv) and gets drop behind cain, santos and maybe even a couple other guys, which means he's not going to improve his octagon salary any time soon (If he doesnt win or get fight of the night bonuses). Like the majority, i see lensar winning via laying his enormous body atop carwin and pounding him into submission... brutal, ugly and effective. As for Fedor, while i always thought of him as the p4p as well as heavyweight #1 prior to his loss, I do think he is past his prime, making him maybe an underdog in a fedor vs lesnar or fedor vs overeem match... At his prime, I think fedor demolishes both, despite the overwhelming size and strength advantage, now i'm not so sure. What would really be interesting is a Overeem vs Lesnar match... both are physical freaks, though i think Lesnar is more athletic (raw speed/strength/quicknees/explosiveness) Overeem is definitely much more polished skill wise (great mua-thai/kickboxing as well as good jui jitsu) . Lesnar of coures has a huge advantage in wrestling while Overeem the experience.
That is crazy - are you sure that is all he will make? For a championship fight that will generate about 1.5 million PPV buys you'd think the UFC would kick in a little bit more. I've read many times that the UFC gives their fighters low payouts so I guess i'm not surprised. 40k doesn't seem like enough money to risk your life against Lesnar though.
the beauty of it is that once you've been hit in the head so many times you have zero negotiation skills
The story has been confirmed by Espn, sherdog and other media outlets as well Carwin who actually was the one who disclosed that information on his blog as well as on radio & internet interviews (espn included). Usually the UFC does a great job of keeping salary info and pay scale confidential, but Carwin was understandably annoyed by his low base pay and disclosed it to the media.... Which of course has not pleased Dana white. link to Carwin's blog where he airs his grievances. http://www.shane-carwin.com/profiles/blogs/ufc-116-blog http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/UFC-116-Salaries-Lesnar-Making-10-Times-More-Than-Carwin-25456 link to Dana White obfuscating (talking out of his ass) http://sports.yahoo.com/mma/blog/ca...-the-40k-figure-Carwin-is-goin?urn=mma,252025
