I remember when there would be people on the bbs trying to find a place to play in South Houston. Talk about globalization. :D

Do you know Chinese? I think you will have better luck finding a better court and better competion if you post the question on the basketball BBS at sina.com. Here is the link: http://newbbs4.sina.com.cn/index.shtml?sports:basketball. You can post in English there, but you have to know some Chinese to get registered.

I had pretty good luck with the cab drivers in Beijing. I just tipped him maybe 10 or 20 extra RMB and he took me to some pretty tite places. I'm pretty sure cab drivers should have an idea as to where the good courts are at.

    bei da! (beijing university)

by far the best to play local players
something like 20 full courts and 30+ half courts?

foreigners play there a lot as well
i'm sure you'll find somebody worthy enough over there... if u're playing just back alleys against guys who really didn't have PE in school all the time (not to mention basketball) and spent a US dollar for a week's worth lunch, yeah well then the competition is going to suck and you're going to so own

go to the universities, always decent players with better physical standards there

Try the old road where tanks almost ran over people.

Try the reserve region of native Americans where there's lots of empty space from rapid decrease in population. Oops, sorry I forgot there is no native Americans in Beijing.

You mean the one where a single Chinese protestor halted a column of 50-ton tanks?

Dude that wasn't a protestor, he was just playing truth or dare and got a pretty tough dare.

Mao passed away in 1976. That guy knew that those tanks were for bluffing, that's why he dared to play truth or dare to show how much of a "hero" he was and get a taste of spotlight. He's got his wish and left afterwards. Put him on a real battlefield and we'll talk.

I think when the Chinese military murders a few hundred civilians in the streets it's safe to call it a real battlefield.
