ur delusional if u think Bud is ready to be the frontline 3 against all the beasts in the game at that position.. Carmelo, Durant, etc he'll get punished I dont like it all.. it would be stupid to have him as the starting wing

I doubt, very highly, that Morey would ship out both of our SF's. I also don't see why any other team would invest what...$12M...into one spot and not have a superstar there. It just doesn't make sense.

I don't believe this for a second. No way that Toronto would rather have Scola than Jordan Hill or Patterson, especially at a higher salary. I could see us trading both Ariza and Battier, and Morey having another deal or using the MLE to shore up the SF position (MLE to Brewer or trade for Tayshaun Prince?).

That being said, I think it's very unlikely that both Ariza and Battier go. If it is true, I think I make that deal for Bosh. For Amar'e, I'm not letting go of Ariza.

EDIT: After reading it again, I'm pretty sure he's implying that they have been part of separate packages, not necessarily all of them being packaged together.

    Bud.

The Rockets would still have MLE if they lost both Shane and Ariza, but most likely Bud is the starter if the Rockets do trade both.

    The statement of the Thread!!

SCOLA CANNOT BE INCLUDED in a sign and trade UNLESS HE AGREES! He is NOT UNDER CONTRACT!

I highly doubt that he'll wanna go to a REBUILDING Toronto team. He may be willing to go to PHX to play with Nash though... in this case, say NO TO AMARE.

As of right now...our biggest competition is the LAKERS (Dallas, San Antonio, Denver, Utah, and Portland couldnt even wear our jock straps!) And from what i saw last year... the only player that gave Kobe problems was Ariza (quickness and length). Battier has lost a step and has gotten slower as injuries have slowed him down a bit.

Suns fans seem to think a S&T with us is inevitable. I'd post the link, but that board isn't very popular around here. Bosh better act quick. If he wants to be the man, his best opportunity is slipping away.

I wouldnt be so quick to make assumptions. Think of the salaries- Ariza and Battier's salary alone isnt THAT high, so to make the salaries match he might get paid in a sign-and-trade deal significantly more than he'd make otherwise. Also, depending on how much Pheonix/Toronto values Scola, they might give him a long term deal which is something he'd be hard pressed to get on the open market, especially at his age.

I'm not sure how I feel about the pieces yet, especially if what this report is saying is true. Quite honestly, I dont see us getting Bosh or Amare and keeping Scola. Considering the Patterson draft and the logjam we'll have at that position, its just an issue of minutes and money, especially considering the demand at the PF position around the league and how Scola could feasibly find a well-paid starting spot on many teams.

What I'm not totally comfortable with is giving up both Ariza and Battier. I feel like C-Bud is great off the bench, but putting him into the starting role is taking a leap of faith when taking into account his age, experience, and defense. On the other hand, neither of those players is really elite, and both are offensively-challenged. And I'd much rather get rid of them than giving up Brooks or our NYK 1st round pick.

I think our offense would look like Pheonix when they acquired Shaq. I'm curious to see how RA incorporates Yao into his uptempo offense.

Realgm? Had a look-see Suns fans seem to be eager to dump "4 rbs in the playoffs" Amare. Dude hasn't never really endeared himself to Suns fans.

As long as we keep our picks and Hill I'm ok with this.

Isn't it obvious, we are getting rid of all of our small forwards b/c Morey found a way to get James!!!

It kinda makes you think... IF Bosh does decide to join the Rockets and Scola, Battier and Ariza are traded, you've gotta believe that DM has another deal lined up. Who knows? Maybe he'll use Hill, Jeffries, and draft picks to bring Iggy to Houston and sign Brad Miller with the MLE.

It would be nice to have:

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Taylor
    Iguodala/CBud
    Bosh/Patterson
    Yao/Miller/Hayes

I'm pretty sure this means we have been floating offers involving those 3 players, not that we plan on giving up both Battier & Ariza at once...

The one and only reason I'd be okay with dumping both of our starting 3's, is that there are four small forwards in the free agent market that we could aquire as starters and would fit in well with our squad:

    Josh Childress (RFA)
    Matt Barnes
    Travis Outlaw
    Richard Jefferson

If we were do sign one of these guys along with a legit backup 5, and a serviceable 2 guard to backup Martin, we're set.

I can't see this happening, as proposed. I would think that it would be Scola, Jeffries and one of our wings.

If they DID trade both of them, I don't think Brewer's the answer. He's not as qutie as good defensively as he's getting credit for in this thread (he's good, but not as good as Ariza or Battier IMO), and his shooting his atrocious (he is a VERY good cutter though, which fits in well with Adelman's system).

I think they'd probably end up trying to get someone like Rasual Butler.

I can see us throwing in Battier and Ariza if Hedo is involved. The first team that lets Toronto know that they are willing to take on his contract will be the frontrunners in Torontos eyes and they will try to convince Bosh to go to that team.
