Now I am seriously worried what Scola and Lowry will fetch, both of them are worlds better...what is driving this hyper inflated market? Esp with the 3 (4 if you count boozer) still on the market?

Who didn't know Scola was worth 9+ million year? It's not a big surprise if we hear 4yr/36-40 Mil or 5yr/45-50Mil...

I was the only guy who said Carlos (Astros) was going to get 6yr/100 mil :) I'm betting the farm Scola gets the stated above figures.

Will he stay on the Rockets is another story.

Seriously no one knows how good they are. We were on TV twice last year. I feel most of the scouting in the NBA is suspect (Spurs excluded). I wouldn't be surprised if people do a once over and say Scola not athletic enough pass. Lowry can't shoot. pass.

    economics, supply and demand.

So many teams with money to spend (high demand) leads to higher prices.

I agree I easily see a team offering Scola 9 million per year. Lowry 5-6 million per year IMO.

    this is troublesome.

The Commissar keeps insisting that the NBA is losing money, yet owners keep handing out ridiculous contracts.

Morey has said multiple times the would match any offer on scola and kyle. I think that statment is keeping others teams at bay.

Best case scenario Scola gets Josh Smith type money. Could be less though.

This guy is a complete bum on D. And in pressure situations. What a horrible signing.

    Amir > Frye.

If Bosh leaves, he'll prove it next season.

Amir has been in the league for 5 years already which is equal to Frye. Amir has done jack & **** during his whole 5 years in the leauge. You say Amir is 23 and Frye is 27. They both have the same amount of NBA experience is. Is the light bulb going to magically turn on and will Amir all of a sudden get "it" ?

People have been talking about Amir's potential from the time he was sitting at the end of the Pistons bench. If your a true player you find a way to get minutes one way or another.

In what way is he better than Frye?

with steve nash. I wouldn't call it great, but agree he had a "breakout" year You know who else had a "breakout year" with steve nash? quentin richardson.

See how he did after he left. Nash won't be at phoenix much longer. 1-2 more years max.

2 more years of Nash and Frye can keep getting better. His D wasn't THAT bad, it was better than Amar'e.

He's an excellent fit. This is a solid deal. Not overpaying but not a bargain either.

Should the rockets just make mutiple years offers to Lowry & Scola? It seems other teams are all willing to give offers to their own players.

You can't compete for a championship with Channing Frye as your center, end of discussion.
