To be fair, I don't think the problem was really starting him that game - he had been the starter all year and had started in the game that UT blew out CU earlier in the year.

It was really the general idea that he was the starter in the first place.

Chris Simms? You mean the MVP of the 2001 Big XII Championship Game Chris Simms?

My buddy and I were sitting there in fear that one of two things would happen:

    * Mack Brown would wake up and bench Simms
    * Barnett would try to go cute and blow the game.

Well, Brown woke up and yanked Simms and Barnett did that horrible fake punt. Luckily (for us), we survived. GO BUFFS!

what is this checkpoint nonsense? Is it legal for them to just setup a checkpoint and test everyone that passes through? I remember someone in Australia telling me about those a few years ago and laughing thinking, "HA no way they can get away with that in the US!"

Yeah I think they have them all over the country. Luckily not in Houston (yet).

It is estimated that mar1juana plays a role in at least 10% of car accidents in the US. Pretty high (pun intended).

when your car reeks of mar1juana there really isnt anything you can do or say.

if he had smoked somewhere that wasnt his car and immediately got in and got pulled over the cop would have nothing on him.

i used to wait tables at a restaurant in austin that alot of sports figures would patronize and phil and chris simms were the best tippers i ever had. their meal was comped, so they tipped me 100% of the total (about $60).

"In January 2010 the National Safety Council (NSC) released a report that estimates that at least 1.6 million crashes (28 percent of all crashes)
are caused each year by drivers talking on cellphones (1.4 million crashes) and texting (200,000 crashes)."

    Great, so let's recap.

    1. Texting and cell phones in cars = bad
    2. Smoking dope and driving = bad
    3. Drinking and driving = bad

    All are bad, anything else?
