Bosh is a complementary upgrade, a great Yao extender and Center insurance if he does miss time. A valuable piece to be sure. But we can be a top 10 team without him or any other tweaks.

However, there are just too may options out there in the Summer of 2010 to think Morey won't come up with some additional talent. If nothing else all the FA's that have to be renounced by teams scrambling for cap space will make the MLE crop the best we've ever seen.

this team without Yao took LA to 7 games 2 years ago how we soon forget....i still stand that even if we had Deke that series we would of defeated the Fakers we went from 2 7 footers to chuck hayes come on now....We dont need Bosh we need a deadly shooter and a back-up center *paging* Ray Allen *paging* Benden Haywood or Tyson Chandler

    2010-2011 NBA Champs

    Brooks/Lowry
    Martin/Allen/Taylor
    Ariza/Battier/C-Bud
    Scola/Hill/Patterson
    Yao/Haywood or Chandler/Hayes

True but no one on this roster can out shoot Ray Allen just imagen the different line-ups Aldeman can work with

    lakers - shoeins
    thunder - shoeins
nuggets - might get worse if no karl
spurs - They are getting spitter, but their core is getting older (mixed)
trail blazers- they had so many injuries so I think they can better
suns - might get worse but nash seems to defy nature. If they lose amare they will get worse
mavs - I think will a whole year of heywood and butler they will be equal or better
jazz - will get worse w/ no boozer

So the teams we have best chance of supplanting:
    jazz
    suns

We also have to worry about sac and mem as well.

while I think the rockets make playoffs there is danger especially if yao isn't healthy all year.

I don't think we could afford him. How much do yall think he will sign for? Also I think we may slip into the playoffs without Yao and will be one of the top 3 in the west with him and everyone else healthy. Of course thats a long shot but its still possible.

Ray had a good game in the finals, but was pretty danged ineffective the rest of the time out there, and he will be 35 next year......he will be relagated to an Eddie Johnson role very soon.

    Meanwhile Chase is getting better.....

I hope that they work on his dribble drives in the summer league.

There's no reason why Houston wouldn't make the playoffs if they have a healthy Yao Ming. I'm not sold they can win a championship with the current core but they can contend for homecourt. IMO, they are better than the Suns, Blazers, Mavs, Spurs, and the Nuggets with a healthy Yao. I think OKC could be better next year if they make the rights trades this offseason. OKC will be a strong team next year.

If Houston can't land Bosh, it's important for Morey to get a good backup center for Yao. I wish we had 2005 Deke on this team. We need a Deke type of player.

I can also see Morey working out a trade during the trading deadline with expiring contracts of Battier or Jeffries.

The biggest addition that we could have that would improve our odds and give us the ability to compete for a championships is a guy who is already on our roster. That is Jordan Hill.

I predict that Jordan will either be off the roster by the end of the season or he could be a key player and produce the extra 10 rebounds/1.2 blocks/ 15 ppg that we need inside. This all has to do with how bad he works in the offseason to get better and how much he improves from it.

Him and Yao's health are the two questions that will answer how far we can make it this year if we strike out on Bosh.

Its also important to take into consideration that if we do land a deal with Bosh, we are at risk of being alot worse if the injury bug hits this team which has happened quite alot with the Rockets the past five years. The team we have now isnt as talented, but is super deep with alot of potential for growth.

On which planet? This team even with a healthy Yao is still no match for LA.

With a healthy Yao back I think we can get home court adv. maybe top 3 seed but without Bosh we stand no chance with Scola vs. Gasol in the post.

What about Gasol vs. Scola in the Post...Scola may not be able to guard Gasol as well as Hayes could, but Gasol in no way can guard Scola. Gasol couldn't even guard an injured Garnett, when Garnett decided to stop shooting fade away jumpers all the time. Gasol isn't tough enough to body up Scola, and isn't defensivley sound enough to be able to chase him out past 10 FT.

I think Yao will make his biggest impact defensively, but the team will struggle to get him in the offense. They played faster last year and bringing yao back in slows them down alot. Ball sharing will be a problem also and will have to be worked out. 25 minute a night yao for the entire season and no other upgrades will put this team between 46 and 52 wins.

When they have played la,scola has been teririble on offense. He's shooting low 40's from the field vs gasol. The size of gasol really bothers him.

No matter how much you hate Yao, you have to admit that he is still the most efficient offensive weapon on this team. So he is on the court, the team will have to fully utilize him on the offense end.

I don't hate yao, i just see him for what he is now. He's never had the stamina to pack a team for extended minutes and now he's coming off a serious injury. I never said there wasn't a place for him, i said his role will change big time. I highly doubt adelman will go back to tying to get yao the ball through hell and high water. Those days are dead and he will now be more of a pick and pop off the block big guy. Sure there will be games when he gets it going on the blocks, but i expect a lot of b****ing and moaning from the fanboys regarding yao attempts and places on the floor.

We took them to 7 games with a much weaker team...I think this team has a shot to beat them.

The Lakers are not THAT much better than everyone else......

A storm will be brewing..that is for sure.

You should pay more attention and don't be surprised when it happens. As a matter of fact, we have already beaten LA three times without Yao. Twice in the playoffs.

One more thing, if neither Yao nor Deke had gotten hurt, we would be repeating champs now. ;)
