He opted out, yes but they still haven't signed him to anything. No one really knows what Dirk will do. If he comes back to the Mavs, it will just be more of the same as they are no closer to winning a championship than the Rockets. If he really wants to win a ring, he should consider going elsewhere. Dirk, I believe, is out of the country right now anyway so nobody know what he is thinking. But Mark Cuban would have a stroke if this were to happen. That would be fun to see...

I thought I heard someone reporting that the Nuggets were discussing an extension with Melo.

The contract extension was already offered by the nuggets and is currently on the table but Melo hasn't signed it yet.

Do Not Want. Melo would destroy team chemistry.

    twin towers II?

It'll never happen, but I agree, would rather have Dirk than Bosh...but even then, what's so special about Bosh?

    Yes to Melo.

I'd rather have Melo than Bosh or any other FA anyway.

We had great chemistry and didn't get into the playoffs. On the other hand, you have Ron Artest who definitely didn't fit in with the Lakers but they won the championship. Chemistry is overrated, just get good players.

    Less chance.

Small chance Cuban would entertain a sign and trade.

No chance at all he would even consider doing a sign and trade to a division rival. That's just dumb. I think he would let Dirk walk for nothing rather than help us out. Remember how hard he tried to get Finley to sign in the eastern conference after they released him per the Allan Houston exception?

Melo is a born scorer who can get his shot against anybody! Isolations, the post, & the break. Average defender but he's one of the true alpha dogs in the league right now. The Nuggets are starting over with him gone and they know it. They have to get something for him. Morey isn't doing his job if doesn't make that call. If people are whining and pining for Bosh, they should be raising hell for this guy!

Melo plays hard he would be a major plus to our team. But come on do you guys watch basketball his defense isn't good you would need to keep one of our two defensive wings.

    Yao
    Scola
    Melo
    Martin
    Brooks

Defense would be a question but that would be one hell of a starting 5 on the offensive side

And Kevin Martin is any better?

His defense is pretty suspect but this guy is an all around scorer, most of whom do not play much defense perfect example being Kevin Martin.

I think a lot of you would be lying to yourselves saying that you wouldn't want Melo on this team, chemistry schmemistry. The guy is a legit All Star and playmaker someone we've been looking for, for years now.

The Nuggets would be stupid to accept the [ariza+ batteir or bud+ 2012 first round picks] trade k money threw out there.

This would be something that would possibly get it done.

Kevin Martin + Aaron Brooks + Jordan Hill + Chase Budinger + 2011 Rockets pick + 2010 Knicks pick

Anything less than that would be ridiculous to even offer.

Well of course. Bosh plays post. Post players almost never score over 40 points ever since the Chamberlain era.
