After seeing Dirk get outrebounded by PGs in the playoffs and getting knocked out of the playoffs as the 1st and the 2nd seed, I say no. Being 7 ft is worthless, if PGs are outrebounding you.
exactly what i said. we don't have the money for him. and noway he will come here through a trade. Mark Cuban will not do it.
We literally have more odds of doing a sign and trade for both Lebron and Bosh over our chances of getting Dirk... Not that I would not agree with your opinion though. Dirk would quite possibly be the best player to pair up with Yao.
He's a huge playoff disappointment.. his 1st seeded Mavs lost to an 8th seeded GSW team while he was the MVP.. He lost a 2-0 lead against Miami in the Finals.. Lost to the 7th seed aged Spurs while being the 2nd seed and having arguably the best roster in the NBA.
Players in NBA history that have career playoff averages of at least 25 points and 10 rebounds per game: Hakeem Olajuwon Elgin Baylor Bob Pettit Dirk Nowitzki
If Dirk really want to come to Houston....he's going to have to tell Mavs that he: 1. Absolutely will leave the Mavs 2. Want Mavs to do a sign n trade for the benefit of Mavs And Houston will have to give up someone like Martin. Then they can sign Bosh for draft picks. So there you have it...Bosh and Dirk to Houston.
Amare? Is he an option for the Rockets? I'm not sure if this is the right place to start this thread, but if the Rockets don't land Bosh, then is Amare a realistic option?
If you look back at the past trade deadlines, it'd be safe to assume he is an option. Is he now? Who knows. Feigen says they may look at him but unlikely(fwtw). He'll def. have other suitors elsewhere where he can flat out sign I believe.(NY, NJ) Also a likely fallback plan for Chicago or Miami and/or whoever misses out on Bosh.
Rockets need to fill the roster with 7fts to compete against the Lakers. Dirk will be back with the Mavs. I just hope the team comes together sooner this season and the team doesn't have to wait till late Feb. to start competing for a playoff spot.
How about listing playoff rebound averages only? If you limit to guys that score at least 25 pts, Shaq and Duncan don't even qualify but they have more rings than all those guys. Elimination game vs Spurs 04/29/10 PG Kidd 8 rebs PG Tony Parker 7 rebs PG George Hill 6 rebs PF Dirk 5 rebs http://www.nba.com/games/20100429/DALSAS/gameinfo.html#nbaGIboxscore He scored 33 pts, though. Does he get a consolotation prizes for scoring lots of points but not rebounding?
