How would you propose to make the Rockets a more attractive FA destination

What can the Rockets do to become more attractive to FAs?

  1. Move team back to San Diego to compete with South Beach

    Some people complain about how the Rockets under Morey not attracting FAs because ESPN, Yahoo and others are not reporting daily speculations about big name FAs coming to the Rockets. Many of us disagree.

    But if you think the Rockets are doing poorly at competing with other teams for FAs, lets hear what you'd propose to make thing better.

    I've put a few possible options in a poll.

    The problem for Houston is that big named free agents do not need a "Chinese shoe deal" to make more $$$$.

    They are already known, and will get more exposure in bigger markets.

    Houston is a middle of the road destination for them, and to me, the only way that they want to come here is if we have an ELITE player to play with....ala Dream......

    Players came to Houston because they wanted to play with Dream, right now, unless Aaron Brooks gets there, we are sort of short on Elite players.

    We have star players, just not superstar players.

    Players don't want to come here because Yao's health is always in question. If Yao was rarely injured, they would flock here to play with the best (or 2nd best) center in the NBA. When Yao goes down, our season goes down.

    Until Yao remains healthy for an entire season, players that want to win more than make money wont come here.

    Houston is a great city, I just think they don't like Adelman. The way he handled the t-mac situation was pretty bad and I think tmac send out a memo about houston :)

    What they seek, easy $$$$ and even greater fanbase, no one can offer more than the Rockets. Yao is fastest and easiest link to become popular in China. I mean....Tracy did not even play and he was voted as a starter to the all-star game. If a player is not smart enough to see this then, they aren't smart enought to be with the Rockets.

    The reason this is not relevent is that all of the big named free agents are already popular and all stars.

    Dude with Justin Bieber as our GM we could totally sign Tina Fey. I don't know anything about her basketball game, but she is freaking hilarious!!!

    No need for explanation why. Need ideas for improvment. What do you propose to do about the problem?

    How do you propose to make Aaron Brooks a Hakeem-level player or imrpove Yao's health (or dump him for an healthy elite player)??

    We'll do fine attracting free agents if we just keep getting incrmentally better-- or if Yao comes back 100%.

    SA is not an attractive city, but they have won 4 titles.

    Carl, in all honesty, I don't think there is much you can do other than make your pitch and hope like hell that one of them develops into something special.

    I mean we have a few shots at it:

    1. AB
    2. Yao
    3. Hill
    4. Patterson
    5. Budinger
    6. Taylor

    Out of all of those, only AB, Hill and a healthy Yao might happen....but all are doubtful.

    I think you just keep on plugging away, and hope that some team is willing to give up a superstar talent as they rebuild......or get lucky in the draft.....

    Oh, sorry, more strippers at games. If we win, each player is in a drawing for an orgy with a dozen strippers. If know if that were me, I'd bust my ace every game for more orgies.

    It would be so much sweeter when we win the championship next year without having to sign a big name FA......so i say screw them all if they don't want to come play for our team :p

    We need to not keep T-Mac out of games when he says he can play. Because if we had played T-Mac, we wouldn't have pissed off his buddy D-Wade, and D-Wade would force a S&T from Miami to Houston.
