Johnson is a much better player than Martin (who I like a lot). Johnson's problems in the playoffs are definitely something he can get over -- especially if he is not 'the' guy.

Kevin Martin. Just seems more efficient to me.

Everything else being equal, I'd favor Johnson slightly, but given the price and the fact that the Rockets already have Martin, I'll take Martin any day. I'm still thrilled that they managed to get him last season. Love having Martin on the team. Being a Rockets fan this coming season is going to be a blast.

    J. Johnson @ $15 mil for 75 games/yr > K Martin @ $10 mil for 62 games/yr over the last 5 years for both.

Joe Johson just turned 29 while Kevin Martin will turn 28 in February so there's actually only a diffenrce of 1 year between them.

That's the exact reason why Sacramento traded Martin. Martin and Evans weren't jelling well because Martin wanted the ball more and Evans didn't want to give it up. He came over and worked well with Brooks. I don't see why J Johnson couldn't.

as I said earlier in this thread, JJ was drafted in 2001 while Martin was drafted in 2004. so there are 3 NBA Seasons of difference between them. 3 seasons is a lot of mileage.

A playoff choker vs. a guy who can't make the playoffs.

I'll go Johnson, just because you have to get there to win it, but I'm not to high on either.

Martin plays off the ball most of the time. JJ is a creator, meaning he has the ball in his hands a lot. I think Martin and JJ would play well together, but I would have doubts about JJ and Brooks.

But that's not the killer for me. I don't want us to pay JJ $15M. Martin is far better value at $10-11M.

And yet Kevin Martin has already missed more games than JJ has through his entire career.

what are you trying to prove?

JJ has a bad attitude as well? Do you discount for that?

"We could care less if they show up" - Joe Johnson talking about fans.

Kevin Martin is beyond a better value than Johnson.

How is Martin a better value when over the past five years, he's missed 15 games more per year than Johnson?

If Healthy Kmart in a heartbeart
after JJ horriable showing against orlando I dont want any part of him ..
He's a bad leader if he's shoot is not falling he cant find an alternitive though he's a good driver to the basket
But he cant get to the line more often and could be too passive sometimes ..

How would you feel if you had to play in a near empty stadium every game and half of those there were rooting for the other team?
