I guess I would take just the opposite approach. I will consider Yao elite until his play on the floor proves other wise. The last time Yao played in the NBA he was still performing at an elite level.

Some of you are underrating pau. Sure he plays with Kobe but that doesn't mean he isnt one of the best PF in the game. If he's not considered a center.

    This.

Perkins tied with Bogut for third, which says how bad the league needs quality centers.

    POINT GUARDS
    1. Deron Williams- Complete player, Very strong, Good shooter, can play on both sides of the ball.

    2. Chris Paul- Injury prone. But very good offensive player but a bit undersized. gamble too much on the defensive end.

    3. Steve Nash- Great scorer. Deadly shooter. But lacks Defense

    SHOOTING GUARDS
    1. Kobe Bryant- Still the best player in the game. Great Defensive player as well as the best Closer in the NBA today

2.Dwayne Wade- Very good player on both ends of the floor. Maybe the best defensive player among shooting guards.

    3. Brandon Roy- Great scorer and good defense. But injury prone.

    SMALL FORWARDS
    1. Lebron James- Easily the second best player in the NBA today. Complete player. Great scorer/defensive player/and a great floor game (sees the floor as good as a point guard)
    2. Carmelo Anthony- Great Offensive force. But lacks effort on the defensive end.

3.Kevin Durant- Great offensive player. But lacks defense.

    POWER FORWARDS
    1. Dirk Nowitzki- Great offensive player but lacks defense.

    2. Amare Stoudamire- Great offensive player but lacks defense. He was the best player in the NBA last year (2nd half).

    3. Chris Bosh - Good scorer, Needs improvement on defense. Can stretch the floor. Very long arms.

    CENTER
1.Yao Ming - when healthy he is the best player in his position, lacks rebounding. Great scorer, and a great teammate.

    2. Dwight Howard- Best Defensive and Rebouding big man in the game today.

    3. Brooke Lopez- had a great year last year.
