I think Brad Miller for the LLE would be the way to go. I think he would love to come to Houston to player for Adelman and knows with Yao's initial limited minutes he could see some time. (especially if Hill gets moved for Bosh).

I think the LLE is reasonable for Miller's services. He might get offered more elsewhere, but might have a better chance to win here and that might be enough to tip the scales in this stage of his career.

What about Jermaine O'Neil? He had his best season statistically in a very long time. He still defends the rim better than the vast majority of centers in the league. He's got the size we need. He's not the scorer he once was, but to the extent we could sign him for a reasonable amount to a 1-year deal, I really think he could fill those minutes at center nicely. What do you guys think?

and yes, i know how badly he played (offensively) in the playoffs this year, but he can still defend the rim, rebound, and block shots; and that's what we need.

No J.O'Neil and no Brad Miller!!!! Not good enough to take over if Yao goes down.!!! We need a young Center with rebounding & shot blocking to be able to replace Yao when he retires.. Please think again! :p

Shakeup at the Portland front office. Guy who drafted him is now out of the organization.

So, why not make a run at

Will Jordan Hill an a pick or two do the job?

C'mon guys there is no one like this available. Just sign one of:

Shaq, Ben Wallace, Brad Miller, or Jermaine O'Neal.

I am not sure if you are serious. Does having two 7-ft+ bubble boys make them playoff contenders? :p I think not.

I like the idea of having Shaq's dad play for us.

would do that in a heartbeat but I don't think they are giving up on him so soon when he was playing so good last season up until he got injured.

Would the Rockets consider Drew Gooden? In 24 games for the Clippers he averaged 14.8 pts & 9.4 boards per game. Gooden (6'10") is more of a combo forward & center that has a career average of 10.1 rebounds per 36 minutes. He's not a particularly strong defender, but not a bad one either. His mobillity allows him to defend the pick-n-roll very well. Gooden recently had 26 pts & 20 boards vs the Mavs and also 17 pts & 14 boards against our Rockets. Gooden has bounced around the NBA due to a lack of consistency. Sometimes he looks like a 20-10 player and other times he struggles to score 5 points. He does seem to be a solid rebounder and would be a far better offensive threat than Chuck Hayes.

Just curious if we fail on bosh/amare

Who do you think will be fall back..I was thinking these guys would be worth it.

Would think we could get ...
    Andrew Bogut
    Marc Gasol
    Daivd Lee
    Troy Murphy
    Al Jefferson
    Marcin Gortat

Less likely but would be awesome
    Josh Smith
    Al Hortford

I would think if johnson left smith or hortford might be available..i think either would be a great fit...but marcin gortat would prob be most realistic.
