My dad used to own one. In fact, I learned how to drive stick shift in that car... My opinon: Corners unlike any car I've ever been in. Handles like a dream. Is it the fastest car I've been in? No. That distinction belongs to my dad's old Buick GNX (car used by the FBI), easily the quickest car I've ever driven. (The speedometer wavered between 0 and 35, rendering it useless at low speeds). Don't get me wrong, though. The NSX is plenty fast and accelerates quickly. I think it's main strength is handling, though. Two cons: The NSX is low to the ground (watch out for curbs!) and can be a little claustrophobic at times. Overall, it's a sweet ride. Too bad my dad wanted a Porsche...
Too much money for too little performance. The design is getting old, too (yes, even the new design is old...). I knew a doctor that drove one and he thought it was comfortable to drive and that's why he picked it. It's basically a Japanese 'Vette wannabe. For the price, I'd buy a couple of Vettes Z06's.
a Japanese vette want to be? What are you smokin? No Vette has any handling skills close to that of an NSX.
My Brother just sold his NSX a few weeks ago and already misses it. He bought it with like 10,000 miles on it in 1999 and has never loved any car as much. It was a silver NSX wish mesh Enkei Wheels, and every performance option you can think of, giving it over 400 horsepower. Even after altering it, the car ran smooth as butter. I've had friend's that have bought Lotus', Ferrari's, Porsche's and Viper's and all of those cars had a significant number of problems compared to the NSX. I drove it quite often and it is an attention getter as well. Positives: Great Handling Speed Exotic Looking (lots of female attention) Very Reliable Negatives: Tires must be changed frequently and are expensive If buying used, check for the Clutch, is very expensive if needs to be repaired Changing the body style this year and then again next year All in all, I would very much recommend the car. It can drive both like an exotic sports car and a normal car it just depends on how you are driving it. Gas mileage is reasonable as well. Ask any questions you want if you are serious about buying one..
chicks dig it... but i just can't see driving a car like this...i can't imagine spending that kind of money on a car ever...no matter how much i have to spend. seems like there are so many more worthwhile things to throw money at. i just can't justify it for myself...
What about for us poor folk? How about the Acura RSX? Anyone ever driven it or know someone who drives one? It's basically just replaced the Integra and fits into my price range which is between 19-21. Nothing special, but I think it would be pretty fun to drive (0-60 in 7.7) and gets REAL good gas mileage (27/33). But, I may just end up going with something more reliable like an Accord or a Camry.
drove a nsx will i was a valet. we kept the car upfront in one of our 4 special spots. a$$ clown left us a 2 dollar tip at the end of the weekend...
I guess I can only justify so much for cars as well. A friend of my brother's , the guy that sold him his NSX after it only had 10,000 miles on it now drives a Blue Lambrogini Diablo, he's always out and about in it. Its kind of a lighter electric blue. The most crazy wild looking car i've ever been in. The looks I got in that car were just scary!!
