Of all the images they can use to go with the story... WHY THIS ONE? <IMG SRC="http://a799.ms.akamai.net/3/799/388/41d4a5efc8b71b/www.msnbc.com/news/1605510.jpg" ALT="Image: Francis" HEIGHT=280 WIDTH=210 BORDER=0>
it rubs it in your face that this guy can be a jackass with a towell on his head and simultaneously make 90 million dollars.
Unfortunately a lot of people still regard Steve as the "selfish" player who refused to play for Vancouver. He is also one of the most technical foul prone players in the league and he has a drunk driving incident under his belt (I know he was acquitted). Don't get me wrong, I'm a big Francis fan and I recognize the pain he played through last season and just how big his competitive drive is, but the fact of the matter is the league and many media members don't like the guy. Unfortunate, but true, and I think this picture could be a reflection of that.
Francis has a towel on his head. That's goofy, but how does it refelct any kind of selfish image? Since when does wearing a towel equal being selfish or immature or whatever else? The only thing I can see it equate to is being a little silly and goofy. It may not be the most flattering picture, but I don't think it paints Francis as a problem child just because he has a towel on his head.
FB -- It doesn't and I didn't say it did. All I'm saying is that it is not a flattering picture (which is what you're saying) and that Steve's image around the league and with the media could have influenced the selection of the picture. Another alternative theory would be that they were just being funny. There could be a lot of different reasons why that picture was chosen.
