    6 years 80+ million.. I say he's wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy
    overpaid...

he's just a point guard who can't shoot, can't pass.. this guy's got a sup-par low FG %.. shot only 41% last season...
3.9 Turn Overs / game..==> now this is crappy..

This thread isn't exactly original. Why couldn't you just post this in any of the other Francis threads? Perhaps in the actual extension thread.

ok.. so what?? even before lil stevie was injured.. how many elite teams were rockets able to beat?? steve can only lead his team to beat the likes of memphis grizzlies and chicago bulls.......... he's no good.... stevie is not the man u want running the point for u.......

and he's a selfish b*stard... he wants all the spotlight.. ever think about why hakeem left houston after what? 15 yrs career here?

francis' got real bad attitude and bad blood inside him... how many rookies declined to play for the ball club that drafted him?
this guy's a joker... and houston's making a huge mistake of keeping this junk..

22/7/7 is very good stats for a player in his 4th year. He has increased every year that he's been here. Despite his injuries/medical conditions, he demands more respect for the Rockets on the court than without him. And they win more games with him than without him. Is there room to improve? Yes, and that's why they are paying him to stick around for another 6 years. When the fruit is ripe, the Rockets aim to be there to pick it.

PS............. the boy is toooooooo short... 6'3 ??? but i think he's really just 6'1 or 6'2........

man.. Ming's mom is taller than lil stevie...

over the last 12 years... how many times did a "franchise player" shorter or equal to 6'3 lead his team to an NBA title?

ummmmmmm....... let me count... zero? zip? nada? none? 0000000???

    that's 0 / 12

don't count on this boy to lead houston to a title. he's not da man YET...

Why is Steve overpaid again? You seem to conveniently overlook the fact that Steve wasn't healthy last season. For the most part. I know for myself it would be damn difficult to play at the top of my game with migrane and a messed up foot. Now if you want to be fair then pull up Steve's stats the season before last. No I'll do it for you.

    00-01 Stats
Francis Ranked Number One Point Guard Of 00-01 In League

And considering Steve has been a very healthy player for most of his basketball career you can't convince me this guy isn't worth the money.

Francis is one of those rare players that can take over a game. Remember the 27 first half points against Utah??? How can anybody call that overrated? Mini_GreatWall who would you rather have at point guard for the rockets? The rockets record without Francis is horrible. We definately need this guy on this team.

I need M.A.S.H to back me up on this one.

Mini you are an idiot. Francis only shot 41% cause of migraines and his injuries. The year before he shot 45%. How can you say that he can't shoot? He is an 80% free throw shooter and pretty good behind the arc. If he can't shoot then how come he averaged 22 points per game while being hurt the whole season. Your saying that he is too small and you were talking about Iverson's signature move. Why don't you dis Iverson for his size and 39% shooting and 25% from behind the arch. Francis's signature move is the killer crossover. Francis averaged career highs of 21.6 points and 7.0 rebounds with a team-leading 6.4 assists, standing as the only NBA player to average 20 points, six rebounds and six assists. I guess all of the other NBA players suck too. You say that he can't do anything then how come Francis joined Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson and Grant Hill as the only players in NBA history to average 15 points, five rebounds and five assists in each of their first three seasons? I guess Magic, Oscar, and Hill sucked too.

I think you're just MAD that the Franchise decided to stick around Houston and give other teams a whooping! And not test the free agent market which you had hoped he would fly your way! Well this boy is well worth the money being spent, he is only one of the FOUR players other than Oscar Robertson, Grant Hill, and Magic Johnson, to average more then 20 points 6 reb and 6 assist in their FIRST 3 seasons. Now these are class act guys, now has KOBE ever done this, NOPE, has Micheal Jordan ever done this NOPE, has Allen Iverson done this a RESOUNDING NO! So, he will ONLY get better!

    Dude:

I am not going to address all your complaints and erroneous statements, but I will address one to show your basketball intelligence qoutient:

12 years of titles (1990- 2002): 6'3" or shorter that lead to a title...how about Detroit - Isiah and Kenny Smith with the Rockets.....So you are wrong because Isiah won 2 in a row with Detroit and the Rockets won too

to make it fair for you.. we'll just look at his career stats...

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/statistics?statsId=3325

    38.8 min/ game

    43% FG % ==> sub-par , give Todd Macoulough that many shots, he'll avg 30+ points / game...

1.5 sts ==> slow hands... MJ can avg 1.5 steals when he's 60 years old...

0.4 blocks => who cares about this category, lil boys are not expected to block shots...

3.7 turn overs => UGLY!!!!!!!! .. bad controll of da ball.. = lots of turn overs... have you guys ever heard of Jayson Williams? "white chocolate".. who's known for his flashy style and ball turning over ability? guess what? that's guy's ONLY a career 3.0 TO kid... stevie's just an UGLY ball handler..

6.4 rebounds => this looks like his ONLY strenght... but 39 min / game.. 6.4 rebounds is not too impressive..

6.5 assists => again, this is sub-par... and notice his assist # consistently going DOWN every year...

19.7 points => unimpressive... refer to his FG %, if you have the ball on your hands 70% of the game and you take as many shots in a low %, you'll avg 19.7 points...

Ya know what?? You're right.. we are wasting our time talking to a MINI Brain who probably has a MINI idea of how good our MINI Point Guard is so therefore everything he SEES is a MINI version of his MINI incompetence of himself!
